Took a call from my Maserati dealer today (nice guy but now two salesmen on from who sold me my car) and was offered the chance to order a GranTurismo replacement for summer delivery. As someone suggested recently it has gone back into production (again). The GranTurismo is dead....long live the GranTurismo....

New Coupe is apparently due in two years and the GranTurismo is coming back until then. Good news for Modena but it will now end up staying in production longer than the DB9 which is some record.

I wonder if they’ll make the front bumper look even more like an aftermarket Japanese body kit, it seems to be going up in stages.

Flipping things are so beautiful it's a crime to take them out of production. Another 100bhp, ceramics, updated dashboard and infotainment and it would make even more sense.

Got a call today as well, didn’t speak about the GT but was out of the blue. They were supposed to email me a flyer or something but it’s not come through yet.

I take it the extended run will be same looks as the last years version, no styling changes ?

I agree that the original look of the front with the small fog lights is far more elegant and less contrived than the facelift versions.

Like the E Type Jaguar, the Granturismo was right first time, and perhaps the originals will end up being the most saught after and collectible...... just like the original series 1 E Type with the fared in headlamps. The last 5.3 V12 series 3 is far less popular.

Good news, prices for GranTurismo will go back up again as it’s a current production model car.

Is it just me or others like the original look of Granteusimo more than so called face lifted models ? The more I look at it the more it feels original with character than any other front bumper of any other car on the market

Yes 100% that’s why when I found a 2013 model GT-S I was rather excited and err well bought it.

Totally agree, the first series are as the designer intended, facelift models are to differentiate so new buyers can show off that they have a 'new' car, especially in parts of the world with non age related number plates.

The main problem was getting a price list. Seemed like a tough question. Always had that problem buying a car as most manufacturers' don't offer them.............

You have to laugh at how dis-organised Maserati is.

Getting a Price List out of Maserati was always like pulling teeth!

When I bought mine I got a one sided black and white photocopy with standard spec, list price and some option prices. That was it!

The brochure was nice but had no pricing information.

I was in there on Monday Bob and they told me that it was going back into production again as well. I had a wee chuckle with Zac and asked if he though they could then sell the blue cabrio that they’d had in the showroom for 6 months now! Apparently it’s 120k which, when parked next to a California T for 110k, seems like a lot of dough.

This shows where the sales of the current models are. Smells of desperation but I suspect you will get a very good price on them as orders will be very slow.

Will the new GT, to be delivered this year, install GPF as other cars do? If so, does anyone know the power loss? I assume the exhaust note will be greatly reduced too?

They struggled to sell the face lift car so what makes them think they will sell more if it comes back. The ones for sale on AT just haven't shifted and I wonder just how many were sold. I am one of the few who actually thought the fac lift looked good and stopped the car from dating. But under the skin needed a refresh more than the outside. Still a beautiful car though in all guesses. if it does come back I wonder if it will have the latest QP GTS engine.... Surely that makes sense.
