Ahh, sorry my bad.. time for the great Autotrader hunt to restart !
Very true. Took me ages to find this one as I wanted black with red leather and low miles, this only had 54k. However wasn’t willing to be left with a bill I didn’t think I was responsible for.

Do you know what’s crazy about that, the car had no service history at all. I traced its first three years at a Maserati dealer but that was it. If that has full service history it isn’t the history for that car.
That is rather shocking, is it the same dealer you got it from ?

Someone is going to come a cropper with that. I wonder if it is fixed...... I bet not. Mind you the details don't say it has a handbrake and it also has black and red calipers. Quality!

They will, now it’s gone I can see past the initial attraction to it. And it’s not a perfect car. Lots of the interior leather was peeling, front and rear bumper crazed from dings, parking sensors didn’t work etc. I feel sorry for whoever gets it. Hopefully they see this thread first!

Sounds like you have had a lucky escape tbh. At least now you know what to look for and plenty of help on here if needed. Oh and PPI every time.

I rushed as lockdown was looming, I got the train there and didn’t want to get it back, I said to my wife that had she driven me to view I think I would have walked.

Odd stuff happening with this GT, the dealer that was selling it now doesn’t appear to be doing so, it looks to have gone back to Sterling cars again. They now have it listed on an eBay no reserve auction. Wonder if the dealer saw some of the stuff on here and sent it back? I see from Sterling cars pictures that the parking sensors are still faulty so highly doubtful that the hub/handbrake have been sorted.

Got it up for sale quick and then looked underneath and thought ***t.

Just seen the add, noted it doesn't mention service history so at least one thing has been corrected. But the underlined bit is stretching the truth somewhat as no mention of the issues you found anywhere on the advert.. so not quite accurate ...

.. some of the content from the add -

By now you now understand this item is going to require further money to be spent on it due to its age, mileage and price paid.

Examples of the typical things you will need to spend money on are the tyres, flywheel/clutch, brake pads/discs, ball joints/top mounts, wheel bearings, bushes, chips/cracks in windscreen, electrical items and lights on the dash for example airbag light or engine management light.

We will always try to disclose any obvious known issues, but we are limited in time to assess each vehicle so cannot guarantee that it is without fault. As stated earlier you will able to check the item anyway you see fit during our opening hours so please come as early as possible to allow plenty of time to complete your checks.

I suppose they hope to be able to play the ‘we had no idea’ card with the new buyer. They couldn’t do it with me as they told me they changed that disc. Bet the new owner won’t get that info.

Auction ended today at £17k dead - good luck to whoever bought it

Probably nobody has as this ebay seller is notorious for shill bidding. Expect it back for sale within a month. Obviously £17k+ is what they want for it whereas with what is known about the car and the work that needs doing, £12k would be what it is worth in my eyes as a project.

I really do not know how No Reserve Cars stay in business.
The same cars just keep coming back up for sale.
They must get regular visits from Trading Standards.
