I did wonder what was going on when Matt dropped a little snippet last week about driving a Trofeo....
Makes a change from batteries and tyres!

The car's last competitive outing at Abu Dhabi

At Ebor GT before I bought it, both of their cars were returned to their intended white as a blank canvas for racing livery to easily be applied

Some interior shots, not quite the comfy continental tourer that you would usually associate a Granturismo with

Actually thank you Stu for letting us have the opportunity to work on her.

Ash and I spent many a weekend working on her more out of pleasure than needing to its such an uber cool car.

As for driving her, I am still not sure if I actually enjoyed it, its been a while since anything has scared me sh!tless like that and its been 20 years since driving my group N pug in anger.

What you have realised is bring something together that most of us can only dream off, hats off to you fella.

:clapps: Well done Stuart!

Brilliant read and will be looking forward to regular updates and pictures here.
That sort of motor would be a thing of dreams for a lot of us (me) so its good to see someone doing it.

Hopefully, as I'm not that far from you, when you get it home I'll get a good look some day. ;)

Definitely, it will be out and about once it's home - in daylight hours of course & when it's not raining, it does have the odd leak here & there!

Definitely, looking forward to that - what it was made for. I'm not sure my skills will match it's capabilities but I'll give it a good try

Not at all Matt; yours & Ash's attention to detail, enthusiasm and thoroughness is so appreciated and the car is now in great shape.

The driving will take some getting used to but I remember the leap from 1990s / 2000s Alfas & Lancias up to a manual 3200GT which seemed like light years so I'm sure this will be just fine once I get used to that sensitive throttle. At least it has nice new Michelin road tyres now, the racing Pirellis were a whole other level!

I believe Maserati made 12 road legal Corsa's.

Edit. I see on the second video 1/12
So Maserati made a total of 15 MC 12 Corsa's. 12 were for the public, they kept 3 for testing. This being 1/12 having been converted to road legal use.
Theres another one that drives in Tokyo public roads, but don't think it been converted for road use. The owner has a few cars as you can see in the background clk gtr, f40lm, etc living the dream...Brilliant sound from the corsa

In a way a shame you have had to modify it ie the map, the front diffuser to make it road legal. I think i'd have kept it purely for track days!

I know what you mean but it would a faff to trailer it everywhere, store the trailer, not be able to take it for a quick spin down the road, have to buy 110 octane race fuel at £5 / litre. Plus it is so, so low. Even with the splitter removed, it needed a special low trailer and was difficult to get into the SportsItalia garage so the ride height had had to be raised.
I agree that in it's raw form, it would be an incredible track day weapon but once it's all done, I don't think that it will be far off that.
See what you make of it when you see it in action, I don't think you'll be disappointed!
