Granturismo and short journeys

Moisture is also in the air the air the engine uses. As it is heated and compressed in the combustion chamber it falls out and will pass into the engine past the rings.

Regarding short journeys, we measure wear on compressors (basically a pump like an engine but powered by an electric motor) based on number of starts and hours run. If there are a lot of starts wear will be considered to be higher even if the run hours are not significant. This is because of the lower oil pressure at start up.

my QP with DS does short journeys to and from train station - mixed with longer blasts and weekend jolly drives. Just drive it, why save it for best and drive a ******* to work?

Surely the worst wear to the engine is the act of starting. So every journey is "bad", just feels better to do a longer drive. Still better to be in my QP than on any bus, train or other car. The clutch on mine was supposed to be "high percentage wear" when bought in 2014 with 68k miles. The car is now 98k miles and last measured at 86% worn in 2016. Still going nicely thanks.

Is It still on first clutch? Mines on it's second, first one lasted 98k, if the extremely full service records and bill I got with the car, one previous owner are to be believed...

Now on 118k, seems the same as it was on on 103k when I bought it..
