Just wondering what cables i need to change my Becker over to an Alpine? Also, im sure i read somewhere i need to bypass the Amplifier which is a case of disconnecting the plugs and just reconnecting them together

Does the Alpine have enough clearance to fit? Chances are you'll need to modify the housing unless you have a display/screen style unit going in the stock location with a brain elsewhere in the vehicle.

I'm in the process of rewiring mine (Kenwood car portal KOS-L702) and I can tell you it's more than a normal radio/harness swap.

Some wire up the hazards and illumination wires to a new switch or head unit as those are controlled through the NIT (factory system) from what I understand.

Looks like the main plugs will work with this connector, but the Iphone cables from the black box go into the blue and green connectors pictured above, all bar 2 wires, which i have no idea where they go.

Mine is a Gransport, so sounds like yours is a 4200

Did the Alpine not come with an adapter? The one you’ve linked to is the type of thing you’ll need.

Do you need the iPhone box, or does the new unit do it for you?

Speculative guess but maybe the two iPhone box wires go to a microphone

Yup...sorry! Well, I'm the sorry one with no room...arghhh.

Is it possibly power for the iPod adapter to charge your device?

Nope, was 2nd hand. Il see if i can get one from Halfords tomorrow.
The HU is an IDA X300, so it only plays radio and Iphone, which suits me fine. So hoping it does not need another box, everything iv seen says it does not.
So what shall i do about the other plugs, just leave them unconnected?

I suspect that the ISO will connect the HU to the Amp and the other two cables might well be the signal to the Amp to switch on. I’d start with the ISO and work forward from there.

Im due to visit the GS tomorrow; let me know if you need a photo of the amps wiring as I recall where I have stored the redundant cable.

That would be great if possible please. I'm out the country for another week, so even if its not tomorrow, at some point would be great.

Apologies for my tardiness.

Thanks Safrane, much appreciated. So pull that cable out, and just connect the plugs up?

Yep... a simple job but be aware the plugs have a retaining clip (light grey) which needs to be removed before you can pull them apart.

In fact you could probably leave the amp in situ if you can pull the wire free enough to acess the double plug ends near to the seat backs.

Amp is out now, and just warming up a little before i stick it all back together and give it a go.
