Yeah, very pleased with it. I managed to get 2 days of use out of it before I took it apart in my own workshop! It's been sat for a very long while, so the suspension needed to be refreshed after an oil seal let go. The rest of the car was looking very tired so I'm refreshing the interior and various bits of bodywork. It would benefit from a full respray at some point to get it to A1 condition. But, that's the joy of it... A continuous project!

Nice Nitrons! I really enjoyed stripping and rebuilding my VX, though i gave up and stripped the stereo out, extra weight saving. Lol

I've only had one problem with it. Which is around 200 less that you've had with your 3200 wanna be :p

I bet I’ve done more miles in the spyder than you have in the Honda wannabe in the last 2.5 years. Also, you’ll get long odds on your motor lasting 75,000 miles unlike the spyder which is still going strong.

By now, almost everyone with any sense. While you are at it, change the front cats with metallic 200 cells and then p!ss about with centre pipe and back boxes. To make a worthwhile improvement, you need to change 2 of the 3 sections. My spyder has had all 3 done, and I won't be changing back.

Ive got gutted boxes and an x-pipe and thinking these would finish it off, do you think closing the valves would stop motorway droaning? hoping it wouldn’t be to painful on longer journeys

I assume you have a GranSport, in which case closing the valves should help. Having said that, it depends on how the rear boxes were 'gutted'. If the 'quiet' side is different from the unvalved 'loud' side then yes. However, if the internals were completely removed then no, it won't.

sorry to bring back an old thread, anyone tried these before?
Before ordering, check your car to see if the manifold output you are connecting these to has 2 bolts or 4 bolts.
The 2 bolt design had a cat built into the manifold and was standard on US cars but was fitted to some others.
The Euro spec had a free flowing manifold without a cat then a 4 bolt flange. The front pipe then had 2 cats on each side.

My car has this one fitted, no clue how it sounds though as the engine is still apart...

Only one way of telling in that case, thanks.

I'd be interested to hear what you think of them when its back on the road.

I think you’re right about the video normalising the sound, as the differences don’t sound as big on the clips as they do in real life.

I have not tried just the X-pipe on its own as this has been a bit of a fettling process.

When I first bought the car it was completely stock, and I drove it that way for about 3 months before I put the H-pipe on it, I then drove it like that for maybe another 6 months before I decided to buy the Larini de-cat pipes, and I’ve just swapped the H-pipe for the X-pipe on this week...

i don’t mind the car being loud as it’s purely a weekend toy for me, but I’m trying to get to a higher pitched sound and to eliminate some of the drone / rumble when driving at low revs.
Hi, here are some comparison clips for you
This H vs X

And this my custom double Y-pipe for higher pitch sound
