I've booked the Spyder in for some work by Prospeed in Cardiff this weekend. Definitely going to put in new cat pipes at the front to get rid of the rasp, optionally putting sports boxes on the back too, going to discuss this with Charlie, but my gut feeling is I only live once, so what's the point in not doing...Charlie also said we could spend some time "tuning" the noise...hubba-hubba

After the pampering at Autoshield, re-doing her broken nose and now a bit of irrigation to remove any blockages, my Italian mistress should be on top form by Tuesday. Can't wait.

It'll be like getting a new car again, Chris.

we leave for Le Mans on Wednesday morning.....just saying.......

I know, but I start a new project on Wednesday, and not sure I'd get the kind of respect I'm looking for from the team if I held the kickoff meeting on hands free with all that noise in the background...they wouldn't even hear me shouting!

I'm bringing mine. I got it about 3 weeks ago but haven't tried to work how to use it yet.

Doris is in the hands of Charlie @ Prospeed, picking her up on Tuesday.

Looks like there's a couple of leaks in there somewhere, but should all be sorted by the time he's done.

Lots of talk of 2 1/2 inch pipes, mini silencers for tuning and other exhaust stuff, very satisfying.

Latest update - dyno run this morning after the mods. Only 20bhp more, so now 442. Peak torque is marginally up, but quite a bit more lower down around 2500-3500rpm. I'm surprised it's not more and probably a little disappointed at the figures, although it definitely feels quicker on the road. Placebo effect, maybe. The dyno owner has said that the car would now benefit from a remap which would make the most of the gains. Time to start doing some more research....

I've done what I set out to do, which is to dump the stock cats before they break up and ruin my engine. I wanted to unleash some more of that glorious noise and the power and torque gains are a nice benefit which I now need to exploit fully. More money to spend, then!

Sounds epic Maf, well done that man and look forward to hearing it in anger at Bruntingthorpe. Amazing what you can do instead of building a new garage!!
Cheers Blu

Chris, Doris' underneath looks like she ought to sound amazing.Do you have your GoPro with you? I want to feel the noise!

Have a good run down to Portsmouth. Feels like only last week I was there as well. Oh wait... it was. Should have stayed for LM, but my co-pilot (my Mum) and my youngest lad (not much into cars) may have mutinied.

I'll get a vid up tomorrow.
Just for completeness, it's 2 x 200 cell cats (one each side), 2 x free-flow resonator silencers, cross-flow unsilenced x-pipe and 2 x sports silencers on the back. Pipe work is fully custom made and tuned to how I'd asked for it to sound.

Lots of bass, no rasps and I can feel it through my feet on the floor. Went for a cross-country dash on the way to the ferry and just grinned like a loon all the way. Charlie seemed especially happy with his work. There's a man who likes his craft.
