Gransport Ebay - another too good to be true?

Does anybody know anything about the Cat d Gransport currently on Ebay & as of today running at under £9000. I know its a cat d & would expect it to go for 20 to 30% less than normal but for its only done 25,000. I have done a search which confirms its history as described. I am tempted as it would complete my 3200, 4200, Gransport set. Do you think if it goes for under £12000, that would be a good price. I am tempted & if I buy, it would be a keeper & I would sell the other two. Hmm?

Never seen this car around before so can't offer any insight in that regard sorry. The low air intake is an issue if the car is driven through standing water and some cars have ingested water as described in the advert. I guess the question you need to be asking is which specialist did the rebuild and how good was it. On the face of it you can't go wrong at the price it is at the moment.

If perfect that would have been a c£26k car (it's not a LE) so £12k would be low.

But as mentioned it's not just an engine rebuild you need to consider... history, clutch, wishbones and how long was it stood around waiting for repair.

I’m looking to buy the new Defender when it comes out, however I’ve just decided I want to split the budget on a slightly older Range Rover & a Gransport for this sort of money!

Cat D? Who cares!

Could well be a bargain. But I’d want to know who rebuilt the engine and when (and how many miles ago). I’d then call that mechanic for a chat. Plus I’d want the car independently inspected.

In the end the car went for just over £14000, which is more than I was willing to pay. That's near perfect 4200 money. Still, safrane reckoned that my budget of £12000 was too low. Anyway, perhaps it's for the best. I get quite a lot of stick for owning too coupes never mind three. Oh well.

Yep, £22,950 or best offer. As a Cat D, even with only 24k miles, and with technocloth that is rich. £15k sale price previously seemed reasonable to both parties. Pain when sellers don't actually sell because no reserve and didn't get the price they wanted.

If the engine story us correct I think its a fair price given it would be north of £26k otherwise.

I have acquired a very nice 2005/55 facelift 4200 that I would consider letting go for not far away from your £12k budget.

Thanks but already have a 3200 & 4200. Any addition would be a Gransport substitution for one of the fleet. Take care & good luck with the sale.

No worries. Just noticed that through your previous posts. Just PM'd you and then again so disregard these as not so applicable.

Do you prefer the 4200 to the 3200? I've never had a 3200 and don't really have a desire to. I think the 4200 is all the Coupe I need really and represents great VFM.
