Gransport Clutch Replacement

I have a friend who is not very internet savvy. He’s got a Gransport and the clutch is showing as very worn.

Can anyone provide a rough price from maybe their own experiences of what an independent would charge for a full clutch and flywheel change. Hopefully, this would include thrust bearing and F1 sensor as well.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Average price seems to be about $6k. This is with new bearings, sensors, flywheel. My dealer did my car in 2015 for about $8k.

Is it worth saying that the software measurements arent always very accurate...?
I dont have a CC box but Ive read many times that if the F1 gear change isnt misbehaving, you might be mislead by the software into replacing the clutch before it's strictly necessary...And its not especially cheap. It will probably mean flywheel, sensors and bearings, as above...
How does he/she know it's excessively worn ? Can they get it confirmed by a visual inspection..? This is the best way, unless it's slipping or otherwise not playing nice...!

As above, it can be inaccurate, if it has made it to 100% it’s probably not far off needing doing. You can see the clutch plates from below the car to make a judgement.

I’d recommend one of the forum sponsors to give you a cost. It should be somewhere in the region of 2.5k to 3k depending on what else needs doing while you are in there.

Thanks for your input!

Computer states that the clutch is 100% worn!
I think somewhere here in the archives it's listed how long my old gransport lasted when the clutch was showing 100% worn, from memory it was over a year and some ,6000 miles, 3000 of which were done on a European trip , Drive it as if you stole it was always my motto , just have the necessary £££ ready for when you actually physically feel it is going . Don't be too concerned just because a computer says no , you will feel the difference

My car had it's first clutch change at 98.5k miles, (have FSH) shortly after had 'Transmission Failure' - SD3 said 40% worn - that was 103k, didn't really sound accurate. now on 119k and no slipping, squeals or noises,

Loz speaks with wisdom: My 4200 was going for many thousands of miles and slipping as it was going and the thieves managed another 400 miles on it!
