Gransport Christmas tree

Just to support Gp79, you can spend a lot of time on guesswork and probably money also. I had a light cone on, took it Autoshield and they plugged it into their SD diagnostic kit and hey presto - fault found. It was a simple one and fixed. An hour later I was driving home and no more lights. These cars seem to require SDx level diagnostics at a specialist otherwise it can be a long and potentially costly guessing game.

I dont know where you are, but if you can make it to Autoshield Maserati in South Manchester, I recommend them.

Oh well it’s a wheel sensor then.

I checked all the fuses in the passenger footwell so I would check those first just to be sure.

Yes Matt I’ll try the footwell fuses as well before I head off to Shiltech for a touch of diagnostic machine

Had battery charging for a day, just about to go to Shiltech. Drove a hundred yards and all lights went out. Stopped and restarted lights still out. Drove home restarted again no sign of the lights, relieved but still very strange, Italian electrics I guess.

I keep my Gransport on C-TEK trickle charger all the time. When it is laid up for 6 months and when it is back on the road again. Right now, after a trip, it goes max 3 days and then back on the C-TEK. I had a new battery last year as did the Turbo in 2017. Both are permanently on trickle chargers and battery maintained in top condition.

I guess these cars are susceptible to numerous issues without a tip-top battery condition.

They’ve just told my diagnostics won’t talk to car

You’re not alone, they said the exact same to me, blamed the car!

Go to the main dealer, that’s what I had to do and not been Shiltech since.

apparently it’ll communicate with every other system on car but not abs Ecu. Also getting a misfire at approximately 5000 rpm

Isn’t it the same diagnostic system as the main dealer?

Unlikely they have the same kit as a main dealer as it’s a huge expense for a small outfit to have so probably some alternative that should still work.

Put it like this Shiltech told me there was a problem with the car, took it to Gray Paul and everything communicated fine, read the abs fault and told me clutch wear % etc.

I told them what I had been told regarding not communicating and the Gray Paul tech just shook his head.

Maybe not the same in your case but for the sake of an hours labour get a second opinion...

Glad you got to the bottom of it quickly, it’s not a bad job to change the hub, any mechanic can do it.

I lost complete faith in Shiltech after they were unable to diagnose a simple abs fault and suggested further more complicated faults with the car.
