Gransport Cel

Clean the lambdas, take them out, leave the contact in lemon juice overnight. Had this issue in one of my gransports that had full Larini Inc the cats.

You could never need new sensors, they just get a little carbon and that affects the sensitivity particularly when hot. Easy to clean, last forever.

Top tip, thank you. :thumb3:

I think that is correct but try Opie Oils to be sure and for a price pretty close if not better

Still got this problem, 4 new Bosch lambdas fitted, but still get a cel every couple of hundred miles, just randomly comes on , no loss of power, get home, clear the codes, and away we go for a while. As I understand it, the secondary air system only operates for about 30 secs on cold start up, so don't see how it can be anything to do with that, just want to sort it as its annoying.

My CEL came on during a drive and it was the secondary air pump. No impact on drive or power. Second hand pumps can be had for £80-£100

Cannot remember the codes but think they will be P0491 or P0492 and I think you can hear the pump leaking (sorry cannot remember exactly). Emblem diagnosed it in about a minute.

And is there also a pipe runs in front of the radiator which can corrode and leak?

I imagine the secondary cats do enough to pass the emissions test and as long as there isn’t a CEL on they would pass it.

The pre and post lambdas should work by measuring the before and after oxygen content and determine that the primary cats are working properly. This is probably the source of your warm up codes, as there is no difference between the primary and secondary cats.

Your post has reminded me of our discussion the other day - i’ll PM you about the flanges.
Surely using the word 'flange' should flag up the new yellow card system? Filth!!

Can't remember the film nor the exact line but it went something like:
He's had more skirt than BHS, more pie than Fray Bentos and more flange than a North Sea oil rig.

Secondary air system fault is often the pipe from one side to the other at the front, it corrodes underneath and then leaks, simple fix if it's that

I will give secondary air system a thorough investigation then, and see what I find.

Well, that could have been easier! Could also have been a lot worse, at first inspection no sign of holes, but when pressure testing low and behold a pinprick hole, now replaced with a length of kunifer, be interesting to see if that cures the problem, just need a couple of the rubber mounting washers now, as old ones were shot, anyone know of a source for these?
