Just wondering if anyone has considered it, and how easy it would be.

If the 4.2 feels sluggish in the GT due to its weight, and the 4.7 does not, wonder just how mad it would be in a 4200 or GS?

Does anyone know what the differences are in the 2 engines, maybe its just bore and stroke, but probably different heads.

Changed times, I remember buying a 1300 Austin Morris shooting brake for £60 and dropping the engine into my mini. With the mini diff retained acceleration was great and top end useless.

Just keep an eye out for one in a breakers (only joking, a tad expensive I expect) - suspect though that if you want that extra power you could probably pretty much get it by chipping and fitting a free flow exhaust??

Don't see why it can not be done as it's basically the same engine....isn't it.

With the cost involved you may as well hold out for the real deal and buy a GTS in a couple of years. The well cared for Gransport will become very collectable if left original in years to come
