Coming back to Mazzers after having a great experience with a 3200 a few years ago. Looking at a Gran Turismo S - a few years old with a few miles. (4 with upto 30k).
Will be used as a daily driver, anything I really need to be aware of / looking our for on these cars

Brakes and how much is left.
Parking sensors woork all round
Cam cover gaskets for weaping
clutchwear
engine mounts
Faulty NITs that keep recycling the welcome screen.

Give Richard Grace a call he may have a car for you.

Thanks Safrane - appreciated.
I’ve had a quick look at the Richard Grace site and you’re correct, he may have something right up my street.
He seems to appear in lots of threads on here and is clearly a trusted trader. Great to know - thanks again. DT

Hi Geoff, looks a beaut but was looking at the Fuji white one - how did you find the MC shift ? I read it can be a bit ‘clunky’ round town? How did you rate the car ownership experience on the whole?

Fuji is like rocking horse poo. Think Dicky a grace had one coming in or die have one. Good luck with your hunt for your perfect GT S.

If you get one with a variators sorted that may save you pennies in the long wrong and a new clutch or lots of life left in it at least....Both these will cost you nearly 6k I believe if need doing.

Welcome along DeeTee; thanks for the recommendations to those who’ve mentioned me. The Fuji car is at present still available, a very nice car indeed.

fwiw, I like Bianco Fuji very much.

To the question about MC shift, it's a peach. Perfectly easy to drive, not jerky and very engaging (in a good way). It takes a bit of practice (but so does learning to drive!) and once you're used to it it's just like driving a manual (which is what it is) but easier and in most ways better.

Where it does fall down is if you need to do lots of town driving, but that's 'only' because all that slipping the clutch as you coast along wears the clutch faster. It's still perfectly usable, just not the best use of clutch money. Mind you, I'd question the need to drive a 4xx hp, 5m long car very much in town anyway. They're far happier on the open road where you can use that intoxicating mid and upper-range, flick through the gears, listen to that beautiful sound and grin like an idiot.

He's looking for a car up to four years old so it will be a GT Sport so no variator issue but probably also an auto as MC's were only about 10% of Sport production.

For the OP, drive both gearboxes and choose. I own an auto so you know my preference but get what you want. If you like SMG in M BMWs of old then you will get on well with the MC.

This variators issue is quite rare I think, though - right? The drama and risk all feels pretty overblown at times. As far as I understand, it's more likely to crop up with cars that are seldom used (as in for weeks at a time). My GTS didn't have them done and at >>50k miles was still running as quiet and as sweet as a nut.

Agree completely. Forums do seem to exaggerate negatives as people often tend to come to them with problems.

I think the MC Shift is the perfect gearbox for the GT, you can drive the car as leisurely or as hard as you like, and the MC Shift delivers on both fronts.
I don't find it clunky at all around town.

As for whole ownership experience, I wouldn't be selling unless I really had to. That should tell you everything you need to know.

Yep, it's usually only the issues you hear about more on a forum...That's with any make.....As long as you are aware it could be an issue and have a war chest....but as Bob has said shouldn't be an issue with a four year old car any way.

It wasn't an issue with my 9 year old car, either.
