Gran Cabrio music system not working

Hi Guys, I have a Gran Cabrio and the music system has started to periodically stop working, with no sound, gives a loud audio thud and stops, any idea what it is? Im going to take it to the garage, but would be good to have an idea.

My guess would be a short to the speakers....

had one instance when using the AUX port, but have now loaded the Jukebox. Rectification was switch off and wait a few minutes, fully recovered!
