See my earlier post. That makes your car very unique.....pampered!

It's pointless and a helluva waste of money on annual servicing so the Main dealer can rape the customer.

The Ghibli D is annual service , DL quoted me £1287 for the job (car has done 800 miles since last service). I sourced a service kit from HR Owen at £175 and Chris my mechanic is fitting the bits for me FOC. There you go not all of them need to go to main dealers and I don't see the obession at all with annual stamps if the car has barely been driven!

Which is why I’m not too concerned about missing paperwork for mine.
I used to do all my own servicing when I was in Army, as had access to all tools etc, in deed, did clutch on my 195k sunny, dealer servicing for “ normal” cars is a rip off...

You say that but where can you drive it like it's meant to be driven , I'd argue the 200bhp MX5 I had is a better driving car than a gransport and can be immense fun within the speed limit

I strongly disagree but each to their own. Have you driven a Gransport on a twisty A road? Epic cars, don’t need to go over the speed limit, but getting to it quickly is great fun.

:):):) Not sure about mine off the top of my head, but as I have seen before, stamps in book doesn’t equate to servicing, unless you have the receipts for each one, which is then excellent of course....Think I’ve receipts for half the stamps in my book....
Indeed....agreed. Some people go MD for service and back street garage for repairs.

Luckily mine has every service invoice from new as well

I'd agree with that.

Mine has Meridian, Emblem, Autoshield, McGrath now AV as my preferred specialist.

I would rather have more and better work done at a great specialist than use MD's for specialist cars. With better VFM to boot.

However I do often use MD's for routing servicing when the history is full MD and is no more expensive when I am not looking to keep a car for long. The Jag MD service is either £299 annually or £399 bi-annually.

I used to use a local Landy specialist for the wife's motor but they ended up working out more expensive than an MD for routine servicing so we went back MD.

The XC90 I'm just selling has full MD history from new. All 205k miles and 27k spend over 12.5 years! I am sure that bill would have been much less at an indy. There is no way the value is that much more than it would be if it had been indy serviced.

Sometimes it makes sense sometimes not. Often not.

No Richard I haven't, when I had my 4200 I did love the raw power and kick in the back the early gearbox software gave it , I didn't realise the GS was different to drive , I thought it was just a 4200 with added bling at double the money
You cant beat the convertible MX5 experience in the summer though:D

I took my GS out Sunday morning at 6.30 am on my way to Goodwood through the back roads of the south coast in an attempt to keep up with a Ferrari 548 Speciale. I was absolutly astonished at how good it was in the corners when pushed. Its sticks when most cars of that size would let go . If you enter a corner way to fast just take your feet off the pedals and turn in hard and it takes it all in its stride . If I had been in my old 4200 facelift I would have binned it . I did have to change my pants when I got home though .

I am looking forward to experiencing the difference first hand, when I eventually get mine.

Surely that is the classic 'OMG I've gone in to this bend too fast and somehow made it through to the other side OK' technique. I've used it a couple times over the years.

It'll be fast in slow out I guess and then slower all the way home while still shaking a bit.

I agree... Taking both feet off the pedals and just turning in hard is pretty much the initial technique we learnt at the high speed bend on the Carlimits Driver day.... and I was astonished how much grip my GS had, and just how fast I had to be going entering a 90 degree turn before it lost traction at either front or back....

Yes ... or that...!

However that was more due to them introducing the need to press the brakes or the accelerator, or both at the same time, and my pea sized brain getting confused about which order to do them in...
