I’ve decided to no longer be active on here, I’m sure it will please some I have left, and that they have “won” and got their forum back.

I find the lack of inclusion for those who are not white, not British and not male to be difficult to stomach, but I have often ignored it. However the constant support given to those who believe hatred and abuse of others is both acceptable and amusing has made me realise that this is not somewhere I wish to remain.

Sorry to see that and maybe the moderators should take note.
I for one will miss the progress on the Corvette and other discussions too.
Good Luck.

That's a shame as generally I always hope differences aired and shared can be addressed.

I too will miss the Vette update as I love these builds being totally incompetent to do such projects myself

What? NO! Stick around. I for one enjoy your humour, your contribution and the fact with you around I'm not the only one who's middle has been scalpelled.

That said, I understand your position. But I'd still like you to reconsider in the context of dealing with the problem rather than you feeling you need to leave because of it.

@Zep, with your mod hat on: help!

I don’t read every post these days as there are too many distractions in my day already, being someone on the spectrum with Aspergers I am lousy at noting context of some comments. I do try hard to pick up on things but this is a bit of a shock to me that anyone has felt the need to throw the towel in. We are a global community reflected in the membership and participation. Racism, gender issues and the like are pretty self policing on here. Moderators have a pretty easy time generally. True the female participants are few and far between but not entirely absent. Harry has been a good contributor on ‘The other birds’ thread where if offence were to be taken it could easily be there.

The likes of the Brexit and Are you worried threads have occasionally ruffled feathers but tend to sort themselves out quickly.

I for one hope you reconsider and continue to impart your wisdom and progress.

oh and then there is Benny; he is just a **** and that is all that needs saying about him, otherwise just ignore him.

Sad that anyone feels this way, I would like to add, that I have been a member since 2016, and have never seen so much spite and vitriol posted than in the last 12 months, a victim of covid perhaps? think the pressure is starting to get to people.

Sorry to see you go @Oneball - I don’t know the rhyme or reasons behind your decision, but it’s sad that you feel that way about this forum...

are you sure you can’t just turn a blind eye, block the occasional poster, and just read (and contribute) to the threads that interest you?

It's very sad and needs addressing from the top sorry Matt I know your flat out but this needs sorting ASAP.
I have been a member since 2010 and met some Great people and had some Fantastic times.
People come and go but usually it's because a Maserati isn't for them not due to abuse and bullying.

Oneball I’ve not been a member on here for a great length of time but I’ve enjoyed your contribution to the forum. I agree with jaast over the last 12 months things have got over heated and sometimes personal and thats not what we’re here for. Philw696 I agree needs to be sorted. I’m a member of many forums and this is far the best. God forbid it descends into the likes of BMW or Jaguar forums.

Completely agree Phil.

I've been around here on and off a similar stretch. While there are some threads I just don't open primarily through lack of interest in the context of a car forum and others I occasionally groan at for all kinds of reasons, I'm surprised but not shocked that there's content around that has led to this. I don't remember there being that feel to it back in the day.

@Oneball Please reconsider (and if you don't can I have your username please?).

@Oneball Please reconsider (and if you don't can I have your username please?).

You as well??

There are a number of threads here which are just bollox, frankly. I've learned to use the 'ignore' feature to avoid having to read things from people who are needlessly antagonistic, but it still doesn't filter all the things that are puerile, misogynistic and so on. It's a shame, but it would be more of a shame, @Oneball, if you left without spending time with a mod to get your direct observations and 'grievances' so they can be dealt with. If you feel like this (as you clearly do), then perhaps others will as well. And they'll leave, new people will be deterred from joining or sticking around and the forum will be the worse for it.

I absolutely agree @Oneball, it is great having you around here and I would also miss the Corvette updates and your many other contributions. I have dropped you a PM and would be pleased to hear back from you.

I can see that a few people hold a similar view, that some threads and comments have got to the point of being boring / offensive / not really related to cars. This needs to be looked at and reviewed. 2020 has indeed been a difficult year.

Hi Oneball, I am totally disgusted by this thread having read throughout now. I’m sorry to hear you are leaving but I completely understand.
I was actually told of this thread by a friend so people outside of this community are hearing about this - a really sad day.
It’s such a shame as it will put people off joining also give the forum a bad name.

God bless you and best wishes for the future.

not good news at all, Oneball surely you can just ignore and/or block posts and individuals, why resort to leaving, have enjoyed all your posts and contribution to date and hope you reconsider

This is a very sad situation - i don't by any means follow all that is posted here but do look for the topics relevant to my car - the level of knowledge that is shared is fantastic and very useful to me on the technical forum - maybe it is safer there than all the other dubious titled threads! I can live without the other stuff. @Oneball please do reconsider I would like this place to be a positive place for all, as I am sure the vast majority of us would wish as well.

I wasn’t aware there was an inherent issue like this but I’m not on-line as much as many others and don’t have the time to digest every thread and post sadly.
Oneball’s name is familiar to me though as I’ve seen it about a fair bit. Must say I was not aware myself of any discrimination but as I say, I don’t follow everything.
Very sad indeed to hear of this, not acceptable if this is the case.
