Well after a wonderful period from July 2015 the time has come to part with my 2006 QP SportGP . Will be picking up a 2017 X6 3 litre M Sport on Friday as age has caught up with me, going in part ex as I thought their offer of £10k was pretty good and a quick clean break. Although I do need to sort out a cut price sale of quite a few unused spares that I accumulated in the 7 years.

Good luck Jemgee. That was a good trade in price by the sounds of it.

Best of luck Jemgee with the X6 - I love the shape of that car! Do share pics of the new motor!

I salute you, sir, for your commitment and tenacity. Few people keep a car of any sort for 7 years. You have achieved it with one of the most delightful, but highly strung and pernickety cars known to man.
Hope you enjoy your X6.
Do stay around and let us know how you get on.

I wrote a similar good bye about 6 years ago I think. I came back as I promised I would and enjoying every minute of it. When the time is right you’ll be back

I feel your pain. In car terms, you‘ve moved from one that has won over 50 awards for style, performance and beauty, to a one that...hasn’t. Just goes to show that growing old isn’t all fun and games. Needs must, more’s the pity.

Grecale could well be best in class. Quicker and more exclusive that it’s Mecan equivalent.
The problem with the Levante is that it’s up against royalty like the Range Rover, and it will never win that particular battle. (Well, other than you can actually order/buy a Levante, as opposed to the 2 year waiting list on the RR.)

I like the Grecale but the first reviews have not be amazing….A car that could rival the best in there somewhere but work needed to bring it out was the overall view so far. Isn’t that the same old story.

I read a review that compared the least powerful Grecale with a more powerful Mecan, and it was very favourable. Reading between the lines, if it had been a like-for-like comparison, the Grecale would have won. And it certainly beats anything else in its sector. I'd say Maserati actually has a winner on its hands. But it's expensive, and there's no dealer network to speak of, so it will not sell as well as it could.

I hope so Ewan as Maserati need it to do well. Dealer thing is a big issue though.
