Im still scratching my head about that one...
Grantourismos look amazing but even the 4.7's arnt any quicker than the 4200. Maybe a ghibli s but i feel that id be throwing money away.

I went from a 4200 to a GTS MC Shift and they definitely are quicker!

Shouldn't think there is much in it. Circa 50bhp more & 200kg heavier so both approx 240bhp per ton. Might be slighter faster in straight line then I guess will lose a bit on braking & handling.

I disagree. A wrung out 4200/GS will stay with a 4.7 GTS. There was nothing between my GS and Blu’s GTS on the straight at Brunty.

The big difference between a 4200 and GTS is the flexibility, they have much more torque and so gather speed in a different way.

For the OP, it if definetly worth considering a GTS because it is such a different car you won’t feel short changed.

Good luck with the sale, that looks a cracking car.

Good luck with the sale....The wheels suit the car as well. Like those. GT S would be a great replacement but a very different car to your 4200.... It's a big car.

good luck with sale, I have been looking for a replacement for the Spyder for some time and realised that I wouldnt something interesting not necessarily fast. I was down to two moderns, Porsche Cayman S & a Honda S2000 vut eventually decided that the RR does everything I need as a daily and no matter how good a modern classic is I get much more smiles and have much more fun in my classics so hence the arrival of the Fulvia which has been wanted for such a long time

just put the advert up on pistonheads now... anyone know what the markets like at the moment?!

Its a struggle but if a performance car is ever going to sell, it will be early Spring in time for the summer, so yes, get it up on PH now.

Great photos, a full description and a sensible price.

Good luck with the sale, car looks great & atractive mileage. Difficult market though, the country seemed to be anti combustion engine, however there is still a market, 400 bhp Ferrari for 15k... bargain. Regards replacement 4.7Gts natural progression A-B probably no quicker true, but much more a grown up car longer gears more grunt & still mighty quick....oh don’t forget the sound, with out doubt the greatest sounding car around.

Zep speaks the truth, as always! My 4200, which is also up for sale, could keep up with GTs at Brunti and in Spain. Zep even commented on the fact in Le mans last year.

Good Luck with the sale. Don't expect a quick one, I've put mine on Pistonheads AND Autotrader.

As a percentage of the value it's quite a difference. But in terms of real money and getting the thing sold it's not a huge amount of cash, given that since it was originally up for sale it's probably dropped marginally in value anyway.

The way the V8 market has gone in the last 12 months, and is still going, then I'd take that. You should be able to haggle some of it back no your next purchase anyway for the same reason.
