Disagree, the best is by far the MC Shift box, just so much more involving and the blips on downchange and pops are addictive. Put 599 software on and it gets even better.

The auto MC software box blips on downshifts (and my car pops) as well?

I'd have the MC shift on a lightweight track car not a big relatively comfortable Gran Tourer.

Still don't get that same feel of rev matching like you get with a f1 box and clutch system.

I think we may have misunderstood each other. I'm not arguing that the MC software gearbox is better or worse than the MC F1 box, just that I wouldn't choose to have one on a large Grand Tourer is all.

The've been fitted to large cars in the past look at M5 and M6 SMG boxes etc... nothing to do with the size of the car it's more about the performance and driver involvement. For me the Box on the Granturismo is the best thing. Without the MC box it's just not a car I'd have.

I’m obviously getting old and not with it nowadays. Like I’ve said, I don’t disagree that grey would look good but I don’t think silver look bad either. I’ll swap for Grigio Neptunes if it’s still for sale in 6 weeks.
I am with you Dicky. Silver all the way for me. Especially when a car has chrome bits all over it too.

Sorry if I've missed it, but how can I get 599 software on my MC? Thanks.

Benny...can you spill the beans on the 599 MC Shift upgrade please?! Thanks.

It's a TCU upgrade, so adjusts the transmission control to more closely resemble the shift times of the 599 GTO. And jolly speedy they are too!

It requires a SDx machine loaded with the GTO software and takes not quite long enough for your coffee to get cold. The challenge is finding someone with the right kit and software to do it. Hen's teeth / needle in haystack / etc. But worth the hunt. It'll make you fall in love with your car all over again and even more.

Drop Benny a PM because he might know someone*. If he doesn't reply, post back on here and someone will give him a prod in the ribs. He's lately been spending too much time under the bodywork of a German lady, so is a bit distracted.

*I'm not being furtive, I just don't know.

And if anyone does find out more info on the 599 TCU upgrade, and somewhere or someone that can do it, please start a thread about it so the info doesn't get lost in among this one, as it does seem to happen a lot on here.

I've PM'd Benny. If I get anywhere I'll start a thread.

Just out of interest. Does facelift QP Gts shift faster than an S and can the mc auto shift software be uploaded if you can find it?
