forum project car? Loz..... ?

We've discussed similar before Adam, I would quite happily put in time, any experience i might have gained and around £1500 into a project with like minded others , first we have to decide what we want it for shows , shows and track , for the road only, for the track only / hill climb, being me i would want to start from basics other words a scrapper heheheh or a good cat d heheh , then jointly personalize it from there possibly trofeo what ever , or something fancy decalled Why dont you start a new thread gaining support /ideas and even more important money hehhe count me in from day one , and as i know Mat he certainly wouldn't want to miss out for the sake of £1500 or so, go for it son

Im sure there are a few good indies/parts suppliers that would be willing /with some gentle persuasion (we must have some salesmen on here) to contribute in some way with parts /free .........diagnostic / race setup free alignments etc

Loz my mother will not let me have a Maserati yet, in a couple of years when i have got a bit of dosh, i will go in halves with you or like you say, 4 of us put some money in, i would quite like a Ghibli, strip it out, lower it, make it a track car and add some racing Maserati decals.

Malc H and Rich from the dark side have exactly that , its stripped out ready for the track , no roll cage as yet , last i heard Rich was working towards upgrading the brakes, havent heard how far he progressed with it , its an auto and i think a manual would be better for the track , but could well be up forsale , should imagine they be hard pushed to ask more than £1k for it as i last saw it in emblems getting some welding done

Did shift tho

well if it is going to be a track/hill climb car, it has to be a manual unless we could convert an auto to a manual? is this difficult to do?

Invited Malc and Rich on here several times , but they have never appeared , i thought it strange as i know Malc was a little perturbed about the commercial direction that MF was going after it was taken over by Brian , be great to have them on here , both always a had a valid and knowledable contribution to make , might send them a pm and see what there up to , think Malc had problems work wise and started working more and more with his wife on the photography side , wonder weather Gullible knows of Malc he plays with a box brownie for a living aswell

Yes it would be good to have them both around....Malc was a major force on MF back in the day......Wonder if he still has the Spyder as well as the Ghibli.......I know they don't go on MF much as when I was organising the track day they took a while to answer PM's mails etc. You right lets give it another push to get on here.

He's about Andy hopefully he'll come on Hi Loz,

Been running round like you wouldn’t believe…..well you might ‘cos I know you do too sometimes! As you know I was building houses before the current economic climate so needed to reinvent myself! Anyway have been helping Jan drive the photography business which is full time for her and I have been a photography anorak since I was about eight so it is fun being paid for what you love. I have also redeveloped the design consultancy business I was doing before I started building, which I also enjoyed….kinda full circle then! Was very focused for a bit but think we will be moving to cruise control again soon! Managed some sailing but let up on the Maser scene for a bit whilst working flat out………………

Rebuilding a Ghibli eh?

You will be aware it doesn’t make financial sense at all…………………but somebody needs to save them! J

Just rushing out the door to get up to Wimbledon (In the merc L) I will catch up soon and stay in touch

Very Best Regards

Malcolm Hawksworth
