I feel like I've cracked it now with these replica wheel centre caps. They have a proper 'foil' chrome edge to the trident, which adds an extra layer of texture. The dimensions have also been very slightly tweaked (fraction of a millimetre) to adjust for the slightly thinner chrome effect rim of the cap itself. It's taken months of small changes, but this is now good enough for me
