changed the MAP and O2 sensors.

The O2 sensors came out reasonable easy.

Car is booked in for august to smoke test and check the TPS. Still reckon i have spent less than a couple of hours labour.

Finally tested the TPS.

I receives 5 volts.

The WSM states it it should read 155mV plus or minus 15. I can get it to read 43.2 and no amount of movement/adjustment changes that.

Hopefully buying the diagnostic tool will give me some live data, although the TPS isnt too expensive.

Sometimes i surprise myself...

On the other thread Wally kindly put me in contact with a Dutch man who pointed me to an Italian man who could make the tester €180 plus delivery.

Now you have to work hard to get €200 out of me, so i went to Halfords and spent £20 on wire, a couple of switches and some connectors. It might be not pretty but the CEL light started to flash.
About 10 rapid flashes
Then a steady 3
2 second gap
Then a steady 3
Rapid flashes again to signal end of message.

It repeated that several times. I am not 100% sure whether i was reading from either bank but TPS was the obvious thing judging by the above post.

I have a video showing flashes but is a bit big to upload, although just a flashing light i was quite pleased with myself !!

I think this is overpriced as the amount of information you can get through the error codes of the standard ecu is very limited.

Ecu's of this era are primitive and the amount of errors they throw out is small.
I bought the software from these guys (i'm in no way affiliated to them)

Their software offers live reading of all sensors which is a lot more effective in tracing faults.
I even have a spare license I would be willing to part with if anyone is interested (I had bought 2 to be able to compare data in real time between the ecus).

Really struggling with a new TPS. McGrath know it is a problem but don't have a solution themselves.

Ours rotates clockwise all the cosworth / integrale ones rotate anti clockwise.

Lamborghini Diablo has the same part number on it PF10, but i cant work out which way it rotates.

The lower butterfly flap has to go top inwards / bottom outwards.

What do you think ?

Looking at that pic the left hand bottom throttle is part open. Looks like top of it moves in.

There’s a company in the States called Curated. They’re a bit of a Lamborghini specialist. They’ve got a YouTube channel and in one of their videos from a couple of months ago I watched they show you the Diablo throttle bodies doing their self test. It’s not about that specifically, it’s a sort of what have we got in the workshop, I think it was an orange one.

would you bet $180 on it going inwards ?

I have watched some of their videos, they tend to be a lot of talking !!

The vid showed the self test and the throttle rods moving.

Yep I’d bet on it. You can see the throttle stop on the LH one in the pic. The top of the top throttle disc has to move towards the camera.

Ordered - $180.
There is a company in the US that offers a cheaper and better service than Lamborghini Tunbridge Wells !

It fits !
You have to remove the throttle body to fit it, so another gasket requried.
The old one would only read 43 or so this one shows the correct reading 155 +/- 15.

Put it back into the garage without a CEL last night, if feeling brave i might drive it today.
