Ghibli ii Front suspension

Hello.
I'm Andrew, new to this site and a 1992 Ghibli ii owner.
I am currently having my Koni electronic dampers overhauled as they leak fluid. I have an issue with the front suspension hitting the bump stops too easily on rough roads .Has anyone fitted an updated spring to these units, I have a manufacturer that will replicate my current coils to a higher spring rate or do people think that the damper repair will help stop the car grounding as easy as it does now.
Your ideas would be appreciated.
Regards Andrew.

Are the springs you have on it original in stiffness and uncompressed length?
If so I would try it with the repaired damper before upgrading the springs.

Springs are quick and cheap to replace, and yours are presumably 15 years old. If you have the Sportivo springs (that lowered the car slightly) maybe fit the normal ones this time.

I’d get the dampers done first and see what change it makes. If they are already leaking then their job to damp isn’t being done.

...which would also suggest the springs need changing. At 15 years old, and no damping to restrain them, recently at least - Id change them
If they are cheap, newly refurbed struts and new springs seems reasonable to me !

Hi thanks for your reply.
If you find the details of the cup springs that would be helpful, I'm trying to find the spring rate as standard. I'm assuming the cup springs were stiffer .
Kind regards Andrew

Thanks to everyone for their prompt replies.
I'm going to replace the springs as advised as well as any other hardware I can get hold of in order to get the car back to an original spec or better.Andrew
