Ghibli diesel no active exhaust note in sport mode

Hi. When I engage sport mode the exhaust note does not work, the sport mode engages normally. However, there is no change in the exhaust note. Anyone experienced a failure in the system before? I found a similar issue for a diesel qp here https://www.ghibliforum.com/threads/no-active-exhaust-note-in-sport-mode.36897/ which hints on a speaker failure in the backbox but he doesn't report the outcome. Can anyone suggest where to start looking? Maybe fuses or electrical first? My car is a 2014 Ghibli diesel. Thanks in advance for any help.

This may sound ridiculous, but I have had all manner of electronic issues sorted by a disconnect and reconnect of the battery.
By the way when you get it working, there is a unit which can be 'plugged in' allowing the sound to be enhanced.

Keith - have you got a link to the unit?

Thanks both. I've seen units that enhance the sound, one is by maxhaust. A quick search found this
but I haven't viewed it. I think there is a video that runs through the install on a ghibli somewhere. I'll try the battery reset anyway. Is there a fuse somewhere do you know? Very wishful thinking I know.

did you sort it ? i have just removed my bumper for repaint and each side of the rear tail pipes there is a big round sphere thing with a electrical plug on it, these must be the enhancers.

There were a few alternatives.
Kufatec, and I seem to remember they had an installer in Milton Keynes. You can adjust the sound through the cruise control switch.
Maxhaust, which is only available from Germany. The benefit of this system is the phone app which allows for far greater sound adjustment.
There are some videos on YouTube which show the Kufatec system installed and working.
Generally the results allow for the Sport mode sound at all times, and when in Sport a much deeper V8 style rumble.
There is also Novitec, which looks to be the similar to the Kufatec system.
If you go on Google you should find plenty of information, and the U.S based Ghibli forum has comments and experience from UK owners that have had it fitted.

Hold on a minute, am I getting this right. There is a speaker in the exhaust that makes an exhaust noise??

We had those when I was a kid.

Given that the ICE is set to become obsolete, the loudspeaker is the future.
Maybe you could attach the Rrrrraawwwww Speaker to the bonnet of your future electric car to satisfy your need for everyone to hear you!!!

That’d be fake so no, same complaint with the stupid pop-bang Mercs and Fords, fake and no need for it.

Diesels can sound good I always thought the 156 2.4 sounded great and some of the big Audi diesels do too.

I like the bike system. Perhaps Maserati have rebadged it and are charging £3000. And yes, there are speakers in the exhaust! Which isn't very cool but it used to sound nice. The Mas salesman told me it was all done by exhaust valves, but he also told me main dealer servicing was around £300

Thanks martininkent. No, I haven't done anything yet. I was hoping to perform some basic electrical fault finding before getting busy with the angle grinder (or my friendly mechanic does). There are no error codes.
I'll try and locate the control unit and see if there is anything obvious. Anyone know an indi near Essex that might be able to help?

Better still were quarter tips and toe tips, and even studs. Great for sliding on concrete or tarmac, and making alot of noise ,and sparks
