Ghibli brake discs and pads?

Hi all, hoping you can help me here.

My brother has a Ghibli V6 (330bhp) that needs new pads and discs all round. Looking on-line, the prices are somewhat unpalatable. Where's the best place to buy and are there any other cars that use the same pads / discs which cost less?

Thanks in advance.

There are two types of setup on the front, a 4 pot caliper and a larger 6 pot. Pads are very expensive on the larger ones.

Which ones on which model years Matt? Or what's the differentiation if not by MY?

I believe it can be spec’d at point of build. Best check. Next ones in I’ll take a pic of each so you can easily identify them.

Here you go, this is a pic of the 6 pot callipers (far left and right) with the smaller rear 4 pot in the middle.

4 pot fronts were on the base models.

If you look at the 6 pots you can clearly see the outline of the three pistons on the fronts (each side)

Really looking forward to having a petrol Ghibli in our workshop, we have done a few diesels already and am interested to see how they compare.

Where the 6 pot standard on the Ghibli S ? Have seen a number of fronts available from the breakers - all from the S.
Have wondered if the disks/calipers could be an alternative to the "big brake" kits for other models - but not looked in to it.
I imagine not as someone would most likely have tried by now.

I believe so Navcorr but standard 4 pot on the base diesels but could be spec’d to 6 pot on any Ghibli...at a cost of course.

Visual check says 6 pot on my fronts:confused:

As I would expect on a petrol.

About £200 front pads for patten OEM more than double that so not too horrific. As with anything, the more you search the lower the price you will find.

They were 6 pots on the front of my Ghibli S. It was an expensive do getting them changed, still cheaper than a GT though :D

Confirmed with my brother, it has 6 pots on it.

Can anyone suggest the cheapest place to buy pads and discs on this basis please? Thanks.

Easy way to tell, the 4 pots dont have holes in the discs.

I got 4 pot pads from Eurocarparts for £70 and they are Brembo

EuroSpares is your best bet but I am sure they will cross ref with another car and be stupidly cheap. I’d start in America/Chrysler page of the book.
