OK Gents. If I just want to be able to remove my wheels what sort of jack would you reccommend and could I get all four off at the same time off using axle stands? I've only ever changed a tyre once many years ago using the jack supplied by Ford on my Mk1 Mondeo estate which, looking back, was a miracle that I didn't puncture the sill or have the whole thing collapse while changing the wheel

bugger me, sounds like you're an accident waiting to happen, don't even consider it is my advice :D

Blimey has that ever seen the road?
It had a very expensive complete nut and bolt body resto ten or so years ago then put in storage
I bought it in the summer as a non runner project
Everything sorted now except the engine
It was able to keep up with my 3200GT to about 90 even with a down on power engine;)

With your car Eb, I wouldn’t want to try and get it up on 4 stands. For this the best type of jack is the sort operated by someone else!

With considered advice from the collective, I may just retreat and have dirty wheels...! But surely a new decent jack and some training should be ok?

yup, just pulling your leg, but as zep mentioned do one wheel at a time and make sure the jack is on level smooth ground , wheels can roll freely as you lift or could slip off jacking point

Hope that’s tongue in cheek. When I twisted his arm to let me and my boys have a peek, every space was filled with the choicest of automotive chocolates. Lovely.
Absolutely. I painted the floor of my garage this year and thought it looked ok but now I think it needs some serious work..

How difficult was it to get rid of the rafters and still keep the roof strong enough? Garage looks great
SM Christmas outing and garage conversion? I bet we can remove your rafters and use a bit of 4 be 2 be 4 and some nails to hold the roof up.

after reading the HSE advice I am much more selective in the kit which might elevate 1900kg of prime Italian over my head.
