I do enjoy this show, what they do and why they do it, the Espada episode was enjoyable too, but im thinking it's a classic Lambo and was it done as well as it deserved to be? Still like watching tho

Probably, if you saw how it was made originally. Mine had blue leather stapled round wooden parts that made up some dash parts. The wood was recycled orange crates!

Me too, I do like these things but I don’t really ‘get’ them, feel like there’s always stuff they can’t be telling us, or they’re just lying about something. The Espada - a very difficult car to restore quickly, and properly. It’s common knowledge the doors on them are a nightmare, apparently the car was almost built around them, and they’re not really designed to be taken off and on. And the one in the show had doors that did not fit.... I could imagine somewhere taking many weeks over the doors alone. Then there’s parts... You’ll always get exhausts and brake discs, but things like hidden bits of plastic, mouldings inside doors, interiors, mountings for lights, hidden stuff that’s 50 years old and breaks when you take it off....
Just can’t see how you could do an Espada in that timescale and do it right...

it was the same with wheeler dealers, they had a urraco on once, listed all the things they’d done to it, came to about 5 quid as usual, but it was a virtual barn find when they got it, showed it at the end with a mint interior, but no mention of any interior work....

I’d love to see that espada up close, see what they really managed

When wheeler dealers did the 3200, they only disclosed a very small percentage of what they actually did to the car. Silly really, as it completely spoils the integrity of the programme.

Wheeler Dealers has always been a bit of a farce, I prefer it with Ant but Mike still has all the traits of those dodgy car dealers out for a quick buck.

Car SOS I like most of the time, especially when the owner has had tough times and they bring a big smile to their faces. Some are hard to watch the Integrale and the Elise were very hard

That is always the case. For example, look at almost every car they churn out and it will have new tyres - but rarely included as a cost.

When I was a Boxster owner (remember when Wheeler dealers did the boxster?) The owner wrote a thread explaining all! Apparantly they paid next to nothing for the car but paid a fee for their TV appearance which brought the price up to market value. They were also told how to react to each offer and comment.

I enjoy the programme but the finished result is no way covered by the amount they spent (plus I can imagine all the days in the workshop) and often the result is a few hundred pounds 'profit'. Yeah right!

Indeed, I remember the Alpine 310 episode of WD which is a favourite of mine and they did so much more work & spent so much more money than they purported on the show. They had the car listed on Ebay for months with no takers, it was listed under the sales ID of the production company Attaboy Productions. Eventually when the show was tx'ed, Mike said it was sold to an anonymous purchaser who didn't want to appear on TV - sounds unlikely to me! I wish I had bought it when I had the chance though, it was only up for £13k.

Like everyone else, I much prefer Car SOS but then I will watch most of the nonsense car shows - Fast N Loud, Shifting Gears, Fantom Works, Iron Resurrection, Salvage Hunters: Classic Cars, Bangers & Cash ...

Who really cares the complexities of their restoration. Its a car that is now on the road which would not be otherwise, if it is done to a certain standard is largely irrelevant, it has a feel good factor, and for the most part entertaining.

Have a look at Last Stop Garage if you want some entertainment - I'm just starting series 2 and am yet to work out if these guys are cowboy bodgers or genuis scavengers.
