Anyone got any suggestions on how to mount front number plate on a GT as I keep loosing mine on road humps and low kerbs when parking?

In the front passenger footwell?

Mine's held on with some quite sturdy double-sided tape but is still susceptible to the same hazards you mention. I don't think there's an optimal answer, unfortunately.

Thats where mine is living at the moment. I think I might buy smaller one and mount directly on the bumber with double sided tape. It is currently attached to a backing plat which should screw into bumper but obviously isn't now.

Sounds like we have best solution of where to fit front number plate. Just need to convince the coppers.

Trouble is, it's handy to have one for getting in/out of the carparks with automatic plate recognition.

And reversing in and out is in some way impractical, is it? Could be a good strategy if you have a LHD!

Get a new plate cut down to minimum spacing and border, or cut your existing one down..!!

Judging by the wide variety of shapes, sizes and locations on display (or not) at Oulton on Monday, there's a lot of people just taking a chance on not getting stopped. However, I think there's thread on here about someone having their registration (not just numberplate) confiscated when they were stopped for speeding.

You pays your money and takes your chances!
