Hi all,

At some point later this year I need to replace our family daily.

Current car is an entry level Range Rover Sport, 2016, Autobiography.

What should I be considering.…

Question is do you like JLR after your recent experience?

I have dipped my toe with an Evoque and am mightily impressed so will look to a Velar next.

Personally I would get the same again or keep my current RRS another couple of years - best car JLR makes.

Yes - I/we love the Range Rover Sport.. and the temptation to replace with another of the same is strong,

Worst experiences I have had have been JLR dealerships. However maybe that is just a Grange thing. Useless.

My recent experience buying a Mitsubishi has been flawless. Again that could be down to the dealership of course. Well done CCR btw

I'm an understated, confident, able type of bloke and a new XC90 would be my personal choice. Every other car round my way especially at the schools seems to be a Range Rover of some description.

I see some troubles ahead for JLR. I think Volvo will get much stronger over the next few years also with the Polestar products.

RRS is a lovely car. I drove a Velar recently and was impressed by that......not sure its a nice as what you have though.
Obvious others are Cayenne Turbo......
Wildcard, Stelvio QF....this guy cant stop laughing!

..Levante if you wanna be different?

Nice problem to have whatever you decide.

They’re about £240k!! If I were looking for a family SUV, I’d be driving a few. As suggested the Stelvio QV, not driven one but can’t be that far off a Levante. The Levante S Gransport is an absolutely awesome car, and the best I’ve driven along with a Cayenne S which is a superb car throughout. Far better than a RRS in my opinion.

That is a big premium to the basic price. What happens if you try and order a Lambo with minimum options?

Mate got a 488 last year and he put £40k of garnish on it. Dealer was not really interested otherwise. At another price point, a different mate has just ordered a Macan and they typically get £15k of options according to the salesman. I always try to keep it to 10% of the list price for extras but that seems tight these days! Well part apart for the GranTurismo which is well equipped as standard. I bet they change that with its replacement plus add £40k to the list price...

If you want to order a zero option Ferrari, I understand it will never arrive.

Urus, unless you want a red one or a used one, cheapest for sale are £245k.

We’ve gone for a Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro. Due for delivery next month. I’ll let you know how we get on but it’s an incredible bit of kit.

They’re lovely cars Blox, had one last summer. Really impressive.

Re the Urus, it’s ostensibly a Q8 underneath so they must be worth a look too.

I do like the look of the new Volvos, seems they have their mojo back. Meanwhile neighbour has a Macan GTS and has been offered pretty close to what he paid for it 2 years ago. I cannot get on with SUVs in general but would prefer the so called baby versions since the full fat ones seem just way too big for the UK.

As Dicky says, Levante S GranSport. Or a full sized Range Rover (which is obviously not sporty like the RR Sport, but is excellent at luxurious wafting and has a proper sized boot).

Completely agree, and even Lamborghini state in the handbook it is not an off road vehicle.
Okay not many are, but at least with the full fat range rover it still has a low radio transfer box. Not all the 'sport' models do, and I don't think any of the smaller models have the transfer box. So strictly muddy carparks then and a light snow covering, unless they have summer tyres. Doh.
