I believed the spelling is controlled by your web browser and not the site. Can you try a different machine or a different browser and repot back.

When I log on it opens in Forums. (Across the top = HOME, FORUMS, WHATS NEW, MEMBERS, SPORTSITALIA FORUMS. While in forums if I select whats new, goes to whats new, OK! If I then select Home goes to Forums, every time I select HOME, goes to forums. I would expect a home page to open when I select HOME, never really thought about it until I saw mention of side bar on HOME page. I cant open that HOME page. Cheers.

Ah, ok, I see what you mean. That is the way it works. Maybe Ill remove one of the nav items as they both do the same. Bare with...

Just so you know, if you ever want to get back to the home page or forums, just click the logo (not the car image)

No better chap. Cleared everything, killed the tab. Logged back in and went to the 'Good Morning' thread which was showing as having unread stuff:

I'm also *not* being shown unread posts in new threads. The latest was the 4200 clutch thread. I was presented with Chippie Pilot's post having seen none of the previous ones :(

We don't seem to have 'phrase searching' when you put several words in quotes, it treats it as separate words, excluding the common ones.

It's all fine elsewhere Matt only on here does it sometimes play up.

I just wanted to say a massive thank you and well done for running this forum, paying for it and being so dedicated to it.

Ive got an MX5 as a track car. MX5Nutz was a great forum like this for DIY advice. Unfortunately, it was sold to Vertical Scope who seem to have purchased every enthusiast forum going (just for car forums: https://www.verticalscope.com/automotive/site-list.html).

The result is that for the past 5 days every post on MX5Nutz prior to 28 June can no longer be viewed. In those 5 days no-one from the forum management has said anything at all. Silence. Who knows if that data will ever return. The loss to the community is considerable. Some people have 10 year build posts on there.

Looking around the net there are examples from forums members of this company offering somewhat considerable sums to buy a site, then damaging it. MaseratiLife is one if theirs.

So, thanks for running this, maintaining it as a community and not selling out. I'm sure they've been in touch. I'm sure the money sometimes seems good when you get grief here. But I am even more sure that everyone on here is extremely grateful even though they don't realise what the alternative could be....Birdcage times 10!

I intend to keep it that way.

I have been testing this over the past week and I accept there is an issue but its seems intermittent to me, sometimes it works. Ill keep digging. Tech have said it works and there is nothing wrong with it but like you, there is something buried deep in the code that is causing an issue.

We have also sorted all the server errors the only one that remains is the "exceeded 30 seconds write to database" which happens at 11pm when the database backs up. This was also apparent at other times (now fixed) and what was causing the multiple posts. You reply and hit submit, it sort of hangs.....you click submit again....and again, still nothing.....then it wakes up and voila, you have 3 posts or threads as it recorded your submissions and thus posts it multiply.

I seem to reproduce it pretty clear consistency. I could probably hack up some bad SQL to indicate what I *think* is going on. Similarly the 'first unread' is still taking me to 'last read'
A minor irritation at most ;)
