Just removed from my car prior to sale. You get two settings; I chose fuel efficiency and high torque. Gave me real world 16mpg to 17mpg average over 50,000 enthusiastic miles compared to the 14mpg to 15mpg I was getting before. That's something like £500 of fuel saved, to say nothing of the additional performance, quoted as between 20 bhp to 30 bhp.

Link to their site here http://www.formuladynamics.com/products/4200_ecm/4200_ecm.php. Quoted new price $1,995!!

You will need a new loom available for (I think) $100 direct from Formula Dynamics. Jeff there is really helpful.

Offers by PM please

When I bought their DBW module a few years ago the loom supplied was a combined loom for both, so if you have their DBW module fitted already you may already have the loom. Note however that if you do have the loom already, only the wires necessary for the DBW module may have been spliced into the car though, the extra wires for the ECM module may be tapped up out of the way.
I actually never fitted my DBW in the end and sold it on for various reasons, if I had kept it, I would certainly consider buying it having the loom.
One last thing, worth checking if FD will sell the loom alone. They wouldn't sell me the loom for the DBW module I bought secondhand, the same combined loom required here. They would only supply the loom if I sent the module to them for 'checking over'. Hence the cost quickly escalated, shipping to Las Vegas, cost for 'servicing', cost for new loom, shipping back to UK, possible import taxes, so check first!!

EDIT: just looked back, the 'service' and new loom cost $250 plus the cost of the shipping both ways, 4 years ago.

To be fair, I did send my unit back in order to get it remapped for the fuel efficiency map, but didn't know they wouldn't supply the loom on its own any more. I hadn't thought about the possibility that anyone with the DBW module "might" already have the correct wiring. There was just the single wiring diagram when I installed this in the first place, but I can't remember if it was just for the ECM or to fit both. Appreciate it needs a bit of research, but was looking for £500 or close which I would have thought still makes it an affordable way forward.

If it helps see attached showing the loom received with my DBW module suitable for both DBW and ECM.
The ECM module plugs into one of the 'spare' big connectors (in this photo with blanking plug), and notice two rocker switches, one for the DBW selection and one for the ECM selection.

I'd be interested but concerned about the wiring loom. Need to do some research

I still have this.

I have had a couple of inquiries via PM who have first refusal, but otherwise, first sensible offer at c £200 secures!!

Is this still for sale?

I guess this will be fine for my 6spd manual as the DBW module is CC specific

Is it difficult to fit? Only thing that puts me off is trouble installing it as I've not had the best luck with used parts

It is a great price, but you need the loom to fit it, and as I discovered a few years ago after buying a used DBW without a loom, FD would not sell me the loom alone. I had to send the module to them for 'inspection and testing', and then they sent it back complete with the loom.
As I stated above, that was 4 years ago and was $250 plus the cost of shipping to America, and back again!
It would still be cheaper than buying new though!

Cheers Mike. Here I was thinking that Larini Systems could sort out a new loom via FD easily but I guess they'll want it back in the states. Still a massive saving over new if one can be bothered to go through the motions

By all means try Larini, back 4 years ago it was Noor and he could not help, directing me back to FD. Its only an email to larini and FD to confirm the situation as it is today.

Dom - I'm a bit confused! If I wanted to fit this to my GS, would I need a new loom? And if so, what might this cost? And would I need to send the module back to FD in the USA as well? If it's a quick and simple £200 plug-and-play job, I'll have it. But if it's a load of ifs and maybes, costs and delays, then no.

If you already have a DBW fitted then it's likely you could plug the ECM in. If not you'll need the loom either from the donor or from FD, and get it fitted. As has been said before, FD won't sell you a loom without you sending the unit back to them for checking/reprogramming. I asked whether or not this 4200 ECM would work with my QP, but they said the ECM for a QP different, so worth checking that it's ok for the GS. Our friends at Emblem fitted my DBW. If you want an ECM and FD say that this one is compatible then you'll be saving a chunk of cash over a new one.
