yes it was in neutral :hammer: even the exhausts had a little water in one of them , and had been loosened when it was checked by the assessor presumably , so yes it had a glug though the intake ...................usual thing and common with these cars
I'm sure Matt has in his shed at home an engine in pieces that should render some useful parts to be recycled.
I'm sure he won't mind me saying.

Pity that, but she's such a beautiful car, and I know you will put her right. The good news is that she will run as good as she looks, will be saved for future folks to admire. Just think, if you had not won her, she might well have been broken up. We may all look back on this as the moment when 4200's became worth saving........

Hey Loz, welcome back to the forum and to Maserati ownership. Saw you were on some nice baggers as well. Going some sort of same way at the moment..
Getting better here, it's been a long time, we did not lose our money or bankrupt as some idiots and inhibited people wished for us..

Blue med is a great colour for the 4200/gs/gt.

Well that will keep you busy Loz, I’d love the opportunity to rebuild one of these engines, do you have the factory manual covering the rebuild? I’m sure you have but I have it in my folder if you need it.

Not any more Newton but i know a man ......... a very nice man .......in fact a very very nice man who has , and the car will now be delivered down to him , where the work shall begin , no rush as we are in unprecedented times , and im in no rush to break quarantine rules or jeopardise others for my own selfishness , but all will be revealed step by step until she is back together ...........................so i ask you all to bear with us and enjoy the ride.

I'd say with the input from this forum and the tenacity of a few respected other people that its guaranteed and a foregone conclusion, but thanks for the compliment

Keep promising myself I won’t look in this thread......but I’m really glad loz got it, otherwise I might have had to spunk another load of money on it......
And probably a divorce.....

Well, building will not return where it was, as it was fake numbers. And fake numbers were all around, for instance in Munich, you can still get an apartment for 20000 euro per sqm, which is silly. This will calm down.
Surely there is some good opportunity here now.

Yes, already a few weeks down this path and parts necessary have been offered.

Rumours are it will turn up at ours next week where Ashley will pull through soggy lump and commence strip down and assess the damage.

What has been seen before in this scenario is a bent con rod and even cracked liners.

The feeling is the original engine should be preserved and stay in the car rather than take the easy route and drop in a salvage lump.
