Flashing Reverse Gear Indicator

I have a 2002 CC with a later gearbox ECU fitted. When engaging reverse the R flashes. It seems to go into gear OK but still a little worrying.

Had it on an SD2, re-learnt the gears but no change.

Checked the mechanism position settings, this case up as 99 for reverse where the "in-range" was hsown as 100-170.

Indie mechanic suggested to live with it but could I being doing damage or is there any adjustment that could be done.

interested why you have the later gearbox ECU fitted, and was it plug and play?

It was fitted by a previous owner when he had some problems a few years ago.

It was fitted by a main dealer. According to the mechanic who checked it appeared you just needed an Sd2/3 to re-learning the gears.
