Hi all, just picked up my 2005 Coupe from a fellow forum user and think I’m in love already.

Can anyone recommend a creme de la creme outside car cover? Loads of different price points online.

Thanks (pic below which seems customary)IMG_9826.JPG

We know that car... looks a peach.

Always used a garage so can't help with a cover recommendation but I am sure someone will be along soon with one.

Welcome to the forum.

If I had to use a cover I would probably go for one of those folding tent type versions as the cover is not resting on the paintwork. Friend had one for his espirit and never had an issue. Admittedly they look a bit weird on the drive but I would prefer that than having to sort paint out.

Welcome, I considered that car too but the sale was too soon for me and by the time I made up my mind you had already bought it. Lovely car.

Personally I wouldn't bother with an outside cover, car needs to be spotless and dry before you can put one on, I had blistering come up on my paint when i used one, stopped using it and it reduced dramatically.

Welcome Louis....she looks lovely and sounded even better when you drive off down the lane. Lovely site to see and hear.

Already good knowledge is flowing with the cover from those better informed than myself.

Carcoons are fantastic but look a bit weird especially on a drive. Also not a cheap solution but do work really well. Not sure how much more you'll get away with from the wife so soon!

Enjoy her and an absolute pleasure to meet and deal with you

I hope (for me) that you just had bad luck. There is enough of an industry around them so surely some must work as I am desperate to have her covered.

Louis, welcome to the forum and congrats on the car. I am slightly jaleous as I secretly entertained the idea of buying this car myself.
I am sure you will enjoy both the car and the forum.

Welcome and congratulations.
I think that some people hesitate to use those tent-like car covers, because they're indistinguishable
from crime scene tents. I'll let that sit with you. :alan:

Covers are okay. Keep an eye out for sweating under there too, as this is as undesirable as leaving it to stand on the drive unprotected IMO. Dont pull the cover over dirty paint either...
It isnt a fit and forget scenario Im afraid...
I use mine in conjunction with a car port which is well ventilated. In conclusion...a carcoon type thing probably better. Better yet- build a garage.
Your instincts to keep it protected are spot on in my book...
