thought it was LE or plus. Still love this design and be interested to hear how it compares sitting next to the GT.
Is it that pearlescent white? Did you add headlamp washers? any help with lighting is a bonus on this car :)

Hi, yes it’s pearlescent white, never an option in the UK but I imported it as a very good example from Japan and have had it fully restored. The headlamp washers weren’t an option in the UK but were in Europe and Japan. The only other difference to uk spec are the side indicators.

It’s still early days with both cars. The GT is the more comfortable but capable cruiser, looks impressive and sounds sublime. The Coupé feels it’s age, drives firmly and is quite precise, but like the GT sounds amazing (totally different sound) and draws admiring glances, especially when parked. Both lovely cars, but the Coupé pulls at my heartstrings and was bought as a Keeper. However, so far so good with the GT, it’s definitely growing on me. I’ve just swapped the Astro alloys for a set of freshly refurbished Neptune’s, which prior to purchasing the GT I preferred, but now I’m not so sure. I’ll give it another week and then decide which wheels.....

I bought the GT with Astros knowing that I would want to swap these out for Neptune’s. However, once the car had arrived the Astros grew on me quickly and had me pondering whether I really wanted to change alloys. As is already sourced some Neptune’s (thanks @dickygrace) I went ahead and bought them, when the freshly refurbished Neptune’s arrived looking amazing, they were fitted.

I think they look stunning and it’s how I envisaged the car looking prior to buying it, but whilst I’m happy I can’t help thinking that the Astros looked equally as good on the car. Maybe it’s the colour combination that is helping.

What do you think, see after / before pic below.....?

Neptune’s for me. Loved them on my first GT and think the detail suits your car. Assume it’s lowered?

Astros for me....The colour is better and I love the design.....Neptune’s have not aged well for me but hey we all like different things. Perfect stance by the way. All GT’s
should have that suspension drop. Look so much better.

Neptunes for me the Astros are a bit Halfords-Novaish. Plus the larger amount of pattern/spoke on the Neptunes nicely fills the large gap between brake disc and wheel on the GT.

Previous owner fitted 25mm drop only on the rear.
Do you know which springs these are? Hoping there might be a receipt in your service history..
I definitely need to do something about the huge arch gap on the rears, I’ve got spacers on and it’s even more obvious now.

Good points. Initially I always thought the Astros made the car look like it was lacking something, but in person they look great.

The suspension set up (height in particular) is another point of interest. I’ve read that quite a few owners have added lowering springs of differing types / drop. I think a moderate drop is fine provided the spring rate complements the OEM ride quality. I think the rear on mine is spot on, but the front could benefit aesthetically from a 10mm drop, however, it’s just a case of whether it’s worth it. I know there are the obvious options from FD and H&R, so it creates a bit more Food for thought....

top photo for me, mainly because the black gloss looks awful in my opinion.
The Astros are actually OEM Dark Anthracite, so a Metallic dark grey. I think the pictures make them look black, but yes they are darker than the Neptune’s

Now you have changed the wheels we really need to discuss your caliper colour.
