Just leave it in Sport all the time.

For fun...or will this allow it to learn better? Currently I wait until I exit my road before applying the Sport and manual modes....just so the street chat doesn't tag me as another boy racer (...it's been a long time since I have been called a boy....)

Just leave it in Sport. It goes better, it handles better it sounds better.

If you want to get on with your neighbours leave it out of sport until you get out of your road.

Good choice on the car and gearbox, once you get used to it, you won't regret it. (unless you do mainly town driving and traffic jams)
