Finally realised the dream

Pity , Aldous inspired a lot of confidence , now the cars are relatively low priced compared to Ferrari he probably feels he can't get the rate he wants.
I don’t think that’s the case. They are just simply too busy the two of them, Aldous & Ed, plus a couple of young trainees. The Ferrari side of things is taking up all their time and I believe they want to concentrate on that. You only have to visit the workshop to see how many 360/430 they have in all the time. They are still servicing existing Maserati clients, just not taking on new work as far as I understand.

Lovely car. What colour is it?

The MD will negotiate the price as I found out with JCT in Leeds. Their first number was similar but I got them down a fair bit. It probably depends on whether or not you want to keep the MD stamp in the book or not since it's a young car.
How important do you think it is to continue MD stamps? 1st service was done by HR Owen and whilst it would be nice to continue MD service history, that price is too high for me. Checked my aftermarket warranty and there is no insistence on MD service, just needs to be a VAT registered garage. I'm hoping a future purchaser wouldn't frown upon a service from an Independent Maserati Specialist using genuine parts.

After 4 years of daydreaming I finally bought a Maserati Granturismo earlier this year. I never thought it would be this colour combination but when I saw it in the flesh, I was blown away.
Absolutely the greatest colour... :)

Personally I would much prefer a well known indie stamp to a MD stamp.
I’ve had far too many bad experiences from suited & booted MD service managers in glass fronted, coffee lounged buildings.

Nice car. As others have said MD will often move on the initial quote, particularly if there's a well respected indie close by. I wanted the stamps in the book for the initial few years and the ease of a dealer courtesy car etc and can't fault the main dealer I used. Moving forward I'll probably mix and match.

If you might sell soon, then imagine all MD stamps would reassure (not frighten) a maserati virgin.
If you are keeping longer term or one these nkobheads buy your car then a good Independent will actually be better than some MD. Rest assured someone here will buy this car when you are done with it. The colour and spec are really special and quite rare.
Chapeau!

That’s a lovely motor. Congratulations. On the service question based on the age of your car I’m guessing the MD service includes lambda replacement which many think is overkill every 4 years. Make sure if you go for an indie your looking for a like for like quote and whether you need to do these to maintain your warranty. If I have this wrong someone will be along shortly to put me straight :D

I was there speaking with AV on this subject only today, and the above is 100% the case…

… with one exception, they had an Alfa 8C in!!

Who wouldn't take an 8C in if you had the chance!
This one was an interesting case because a defective battery lead to thermal runaway… the battery literally exploded, it was amazing the car is still standing. Everything inside is carbon… very, very light compared to a GranTurismo! Lovely machine.
