Doesn't look too bad at all, check the jacking points they tend to be worse than they initially look. Getting all those suspension bits off cleaned and painted will makes a big difference, what's the body panels like, generally if you can see rust it will be worse when you start to clean it back but I have seen much worse good luck

jacking points are all good as is the entire underside, on the panels there is really no rust that is a worry, it seems all the panels have also been waxoiled on the inside including the doors, pillars etc etc, the minor rust is from outside and not from inside out rot, bloomin marvelous survivor and cant wait to get back to it's former glory

Both of ours had Ziebart / Waxoyl from new.....

C

I remember ziebart but was never that keen on it as it had a tendency to harden/separate and allow moisture in, I always waxoyled my motors in the 80's and 90's, the clear stuff was great, did all the cavities with the supplied hand pump sprayer with cavity 360 tube and then just used an old paint gun with thinned down stuff for all underside/running gear, fantastic stuff for rust protection as always remained oily non hardening and would get into all the seems on bodywork, there seems to be far more waxoyl type manufacturers these days and heard that bilt hamber dynax s-50 is the stuff to use as it's the best on the market

nice relaxing day in the garage today tinkering with the giulia, thought I would see if engine all good, hand cranked, plugs out and borescope showed cylinders all good, new oil filter and helix 15w40 mineral oil, fresh coolant, spun over without plugs to build oil pressure, new plugs fitted and to my amazement the old girl fired up after 3 attempts with good oil pressure and sounded all good apart from bloomin noisy as fook because no exhaust, looks like whoever winched it for the trader must have caught something on the underside box and carried on winching and breaking ends off the cast manifold, muppet, no big deal, anyone know whether manifolds and exhausts still available

Did they ever fit EFI to the Nord twincam or was it replaced by the Twinspark before that happened?

I believe the last of the Alfettas (2.0 Gold Cloverleaf) had Motronic fitted. It gets a mention in the supplement section in the back of my old Haynes Alfetta manual.

nice relaxing morning pulling off the manifolds whilst the gals indoors getting on each others tit's:rolleyes:, managed to trace a pair of good replacements in Italy for £145 which seems reasonable as rare to find now, I do need a replacement expansion bottle cap as it's missing, any pointers as to where to get one would be useful and were these exp bottles used on other alfa models????
