It was the name that I was referring to! A Toyota Corona. If it broke down and the AA asked what was wrong, you could tell them it had Corona virus.

This would be an interesting project and conversation starter at any car meet up.
The bad guys in the excellent series Trust (about the Getty family) used a chrome bumper one - it looked so cool I spent a few hours trawling the European ads. My dad bought one from a doctor back in the day - dark green over tan - I remember he loved it, but my overwhelming memory was it smelling of disinfectant.

You see the movies have got it all wrong. Baddies should be driving Alfa's not Masers!

In terms of Corona virus projects, I'm making (yet another) probably futile attempt to coax my lawn into to a verdant bowling green from the moss ridden, weed infested, mangy yard that it has deteriorated into since the last time I had these delusions of groundsmanship!

What is it with these weird headlines on internet articles, usually they start with “this” something like “This pink Vitara is the car your hairdresser always promised you” where what it actually should read is “We found this POS on eBay whilst having our morning latte and sour dough bagel and instead of doing any real journalism we thought we’d copy from it verbatim to make up the text in this article”.

Rant over. Found a TV ad for that Alfetta:

I heard this was the choice of rides for the cosa nostra because the boot was plenty big enough for a horses head ;)

I had a Metro VdP. Velour and wood trim. Believe it or not it was real wood, don’t get that on your Toyota Corolla.

A company I worked for had Montego estates and they all started denting around the exterior door handles. BL had them back in under warranty. We were told that the door handles weren’t designed for closing the door with.

Had a MG Montego as a traffic car... engine fell out of it when following to scally down a dirt road... dohhh.

Use to screw the nuts off the Metros we had to just to make progress.
