Although the Giulia Quad engine was developed by Ferrari (or derived from the Ferrari V8), it is built by FCA at Termoli...

So, the QV engine though developed by Ferrari, is not supplied by them, and is built by FCA. A subtle but important difference. FCA has the capacity to build engines, it just needs development skills.
In that case all they need is to poach some Ferrari staff, or go the 60's Lambo route and hire a team of the best and brightest local youngsters. Then build the 'new Busso' engine. Boom. We'll have a V6 and a V8, thankyou please.

Sadly you’re right. Wasn’t that long ago Lotus unveiled a pretty robust line up to the world. Bigger all happened after that.

Still would find it strange they make a bold statement about new model releases and wouldn’t know about Ferrari’s decision. Wouldn’t be very sportsman like for Ferrari to say that in an interview without having spoken to a close partner as such.

So basically they have the 2.9 v6 quad engine. That's a stonking engine to start with! Breathe on that a little and add electric boost itll be 600+ bhp

Maserati should become the luxury EV brand within FCA.
I presume v6 hybrid versions will be presented soon and some time later full electric versions will follow.
Soon....?
The GranTurismo will be the last “ real” Maser in my opinion.
Don’t need an all electric one....ever.

I don’t think this would be a bad thing. Assuming the recent Ferrari separation from FIAT would put Maserati at the top of the global largest car manufacturer and free to compete with Ferrari et al.
