I really was not sure where to place this video so I gave the spot to Ferrari since they were responsible for making the engines for all three cars . This is a great road test featuring Ferrari Scuderia, Alfa 8c and Maserati Granturismo

Enjoy it........all three cars look tempting

A very good article, enjoyed that, its almost made me reconsider the GT and not the GTS. The Ferrari, is a Ferrari, and for that reason does not interest me, I think I would feel a bit of a knob in it but that Alfa, oh boy, that is nice....well we all know its a 4.7 GS underneath, that they have ruined the steering and ride.

OMG Conaero, if you would feel a bit of a knob in a Ferrari, how do you think I would feel........I am a lot older than you. I could still see myself in 599 though ...........I am not sure if my bank manager could

Hum, not the greatest Ferrari (modern) fan. They just come across very penis extension, dont get me wrong, I think they are engineering brilliance, just not for me.

If we are talking classic Ferrari, then I am all up for them, hairy chested mens cars that sounded and smelled, popped and farted.....the Daytona being my favourite, and I have always had a very soft spot for the Dino, I would have on of those like a shot, maybe why I own the poor mans version, its very similar don't you think...designed by the American designer who penned the vette....

1969 Opel GT 1.9L 4 Cylinder Cam in head - No, its not a bloody Manta, so don't even go there!

oooh, there's my old Alfa 3.2V6 in the background, now that was a very fast point to point car, loved it

Me once upon a time saying how much I loved the Alfa GT 3.2V6 on a Maserati website caused me to become very unpopular and daring to compare with a Maserati caused me to become even more unpopular but who cares. It was one of the best cars I have ever owned. I sold it for little more than £9,000........someone got a bargain. By the way that old Opel looks pretty cool :)

I think alot of Maserati Coupe owners came from a V6 Alfa background. The Maserati is a different animal to any Alfa, but the Alfas are still awesome for what you get.

Both Maserati and Alfa V6 fall in to the same category:

Alot of bang for you buck!

I agree but I have always argued that rather than get involved with the liability of a biturbo/ghibili 2, which even on a good day can be unpredictable, why not go for an Alfa GT V6????? It is a better looking car, far more reliable and at the end of the day not that much slower in the real world the a Ghibili........ and certainly as quick, if not quicker than a biturbo. I think this is worthy of new thread under Alfa Romeo.

Agreed, just comes down to choice at the end of the day......oh and Top Trumps - Maserati is always going to beat an Alfa.

Alfa dont currently produce anything that floats my boat, and with the death of the Arese V6 and the front wheel drive, I think its going to be a while before I go back, I have Alfas as second cars not, daily driver.

Saw the video when it came out but I thought they missed the point by pitting the Scud vs a stock GranTurismo. F430 vs Granturismo or Scud vs GT S would have been a bit more appropriate.

I agree Big Foot Maserati were at a disadvantage with the 4200 Granturismo and would have better been able to sit in such comapany with GranturismoS. However, I don't think the Granturismo S had been released when they did that road test.........It didn't fair too badly despite this :) Perhaps the purpose of the test was that all three cars had Ferrari derived engines.

The 8C is truly stunning in the flesh. A real pity they don't make more beautiful cars like this, so many cars today are overdesigned. I know everyone raves about the 458 but to me it is just not that special compared to past purer Ferraris, in particular I think the headlights are hideous.

Not that I could afford one anyway mind you.

My 2.5 156 is still going great, just MOT'd again and being a 1998 model (owned from new) is fully depreciated!

Was lucky enough to see an 8C at Graypaul and you're right, it really does have presence. That something extra that you can't quite put your finger on.

Haven't seen the 458 yet but will hope to in the not too distant, however weirdly I'm really starting to appreciate the 430. It seems to have grown into its skin.
