Whooa!, don't be tarring all Craftsmen with the same brush! Take some pipe, some plate and a bit of tree, mix it all together and well, what d'ya know. At least the yokels are finding it comes in handy!

Thank's mate, its not beech, no, if I remember correctly its iroko, a cheaper alternative to teak, treated with oil. Have to keep on top of it though

Would never have guessed iroko. That took some machining if teak is anything is anything to go by. I have a thing for solid wooden flooring and replaced some 50+ yo teak at Dad's recently. It put up a good fight! The new cherry wood is a thing of beauty though. Thought you might've used oil - have always favoured OSMO and rate it highly. Do you know Havwoods of Preston - nice people.

That's pretty close, 1 1/2" sch 40 pipe, that's about 48mm o.d. TIG welded together and polished off.
