Also read;

The beautiful Alfieri concept car we saw a few years ago is scheduled to see the light of day. The stylish stunner will ride on a new lightweight aluminum spaceframe available in both coupe and cabriolet body styles and with three powertrains: hybrid, plug-in hybrid and all-electric e-AWD. Look for active aero, too.

I also saw guys on Maseratilife saying GT production has ceased, but spoke to my dealer who came back from Modena factory who saw GT’s still rolling down the line last week. He said GT 4 seat format is dead. New model roles out in 2020 and V8’s not clear.

Although both you and I like the idea of a V8 I think you are overstating it by saying it will be the death (no offence, just my opinion). The reason I say this is the market is evolving and electric is in the ascendancy (where is Hydrogen in all this?). More youthful drivers accept the electric concept and I think will still buy Maserati providing the shape of the car is beautiful and desirable. If Maserati do not embrace electric then I think that is more likely to lead to its demise.
Just a point for discussion

Hybrid with a V8 in it would have worked better.

Missed opportunity.

You buy a Maserati for among other things, the core value of sound.

Otherwise, what's the point? May as well buy a Tesla if you want an electric performance car.

Well one V8 might be the new Alfa 8C, I’d think about it if Maserati no longer have a V8.
