.....or, a face like a rivet catchers glove.

Goes like snot off a chickens lip.
As mad as a ship’s cat.

Old man always told my little brother, who is not little," if you're going to hit someone make sure they don't get up again"

All fine until he got called to the school about little brothers behaviour, gets to headmaster office to find him standing there - "What did you do?"

Little brother " What you told me, he didn't get up"

Turns out little bro had pole axed the school bully, knocked him out cold, old man just laughed

''I'll show you the back of my hand....''

Me : ''dad, where's mum gone...?''

Dad : ''she's run away with a black man''.

I grew up in the '70s....

I did something similar when I was about 11 in football practice after school.
His mum came round our house and asked why I'd done it, so I told her he was a bully. She (obviously) wasn't having any of it.
My dad told her to leave and said "well done" to me.

Next day at school, we were in front of the headmaster. I told him the same story (as it was true).
He told the other kid to go back to his class. There was me expecting the worst.
He shut the door. Told me to sit down. He said he wasn't going to tell me off or punish me as he was glad someone gave him a bit of his own medicine and that I'd sorted the bullying situation out at the school for him!

I reckon nowadays I'd have been expelled!

Life is not a dress rehearsal for something else.

What goes by ya, ain't for ya.

The harder and harder I try, the luckier and luckier I get.

Travel light, travel fast.
