I sold my Performance car ones last week......and just sold my EVO 1 to 258. Shame you didn't ask a week or so ago.

£60..... They don't fetch much. Asked £80 first but no bids. Some have them on eBay for £150 but they don't sell. Never read them any more as its all on the internet so £60 in my pocket was better than having them cluttering the boys room.

Having a clear out so am going to list some of my collection of cars brochures as well....including Maserati ones.

Agreed about clearing the clutter. I'm sure I have loads knocking around in boxes somewhere. I wonder if any magazines/publishers have them all digital now even the really old ones. The good thing about technology I guess that you can search for specific things so much quick.

I bet you sat done and had some fun running through those mags before you sold them though. Brought back some memories I'm sure.

By and large most publishers don’t see the value. My one is digitising its picture archive but we’ve got god knows how many years of Car, Classic Cars and MCN and other bike titles to do. For a nerd like me I could spend entire weeks in the archive. Original Ghibli II Cup press kit was a great find. Original shots from the first test of the BiTurbo for Car, of it getting very squirrely in the snow...

I managed to pick up all of Evo for free apart from the first two years, and I did spend £300 for Car 1977-2015-ish. I could never tell my wife about the latter but it’s an invaluable resource, especially for the era of car I write about - as you can imagine there are loads of books about pre-1980 cars, and countless on Porsches and Fords, but very little on most things. It’s also great for weighing up the industry context. Best investment in my career I ever made. One of the most interesting nuggets I pulled out recently was that the Alfa Romeo 145 was considered for the 2.5 V6 Busso engine. I know there’s been aftermarket conversions (including a 3.2) but how mad would that have been, especially as it didn’t get the GTV rear suspension?

I did, took ages as had to stop and look at a few articles. Issues one with the 3200 on the car.

I haven’t found any magazines lurking, but I do have this. For those who still have a VHS player!

When I moved out of my parents I chucked most of my copies of Performance Car but did keep a few select copies which are in my loft.
Along with the Pamela Anderson edition of Playboy! :D:D:D

Classic thread drift. I found some similar magazines from the 70s in a flat I bought to rent. By golly where they chauvinistic back then.
