On a my2000 3200GT the instrument binnacle lights, clock light, ashtray light, aircon dials & buttons lights and high beam range adjuster lights went out. Found a blown 7.5 amp fuse in foot well. Replaced fuse, all OK,however if I switch on the lights while the engine is running the fuse blows. If I switch on the lights and then start the engine the lights stay on ! So I've found a work-around fix,but what is the problem ? The parking lights are not affected. Any suggestions welcome.

Check the wires to ensure there is no fraying, also the fuse box for the main fuses may contain a 'Get you Home' system which keeps lights on enough should the fise go as you are driving...I know a few cars I have had in the past had this as a saftey system.

I had the same problem on my spyder. Call Autoshield Maserati on; 0161 881 3463 and ask for Russell. He fixed mine; he did tell me what he replaced but I've forgotten.

It's always a simple problem. Found a frayed wire on the ashtray light which was creating an intermittent short circuit, five minute job to fix !
