I know this kind of activity has been going on for years but isn't it about time the practice was stopped and banned? It is misleading, false, unscrupulous and unfair to buyers.

I have been keeping my eye out for a nice belt driven 100l+ compressor for the garage. Not really sure what is good, bad or indifferent but have been happy with an SGS kit I have to date. Looked at their 90l Professional belt driven unit a while back that seemed to fit the bill. The price is £269.99 inc vat on their Ebay shop and has been the same on their website for some time. Seems about right as similar units badged differently are the same or an odd few quid more.
https://www.sgs-engineering.com/specials/black-friday/sc90b-90-litre-air-compressor-14cfm

Now the first issue is I have never seen this unit for more than £269.99 let alone the £479.99 price it suggests it was on their website. Secondly the Black Friday price is showing as £257.99. A little cheaper granted but not the Black Friday price people are expecting. Most are seeing it was £479.99 and now the Black Friday price will be £257.99. In essense Black Friday is saving £12......whoopee doo.

I know I'm after a Tacx Flux smart trainer. Halford currently have them for £450, as have a lot of other places to fall in line with Halfords.

I'm hoping that Black Friday will mean that that I might get it for sub £400 (who knows), but I have already seen some 'Black Friday Deals' have it up for £450 reduced from £650!

The reality is, they were £650 about 6 months ago, when Halfords starting selling them for £450 everyone else had to lower their prices.
So there are no deals to be had.

I went for the Neo (just because one came at the right price) either Tacx is a fantastic purchase, say hey if you join Zwift

That's the plan. Can't justify at the moment almost a grand for the Neo. But like most things, once you get into it. Upgrade all the way!!!

Think I paid about £650 for mine of ebay (it was practically new and under warranty as was only purchased a few months before) but they still seam to hold there values second hand so thought either way if I stop using it I can sell on. (was new to cycling early this year) so glad I have one, gets me on the bike when I would not be able to at all over the winter (usually a 8pm ride)

You did well to get one for £650. 8pm ride is my plan, that way I can get home from work, put the little man to bed, have some dinner then go fro a ride.

yeah the lady was like oh I only put it on there an hour ago. and luckily for me only 30mins away. was there in 28lol. same evening as mine lol. if you haven't got any experience or recomendatations on them id say skip the TACX programmes, go straight to Zwift and Strava as there's always loads of people on there. Main initial reason I got one was so me and my dad could train together, he lives 120miles away.

A mate said the same. I'm on Strava already, I've signed up for Zwift, just need the trainer.

Agreed. I'm shocked that it is actually cheaper in the Black Friday sale.

My Black Friday issues are a little different...
1 - It's next week, yet my inbox has been full of sales emails for the last week. So it's really Black Fortnight.
2 - Most of the stuff barely hits
3 - Idiots who flock like a mob to the local supermarket and suddenly think it's ok to act like animals and push / shove / grab etc.

Have you looked at Evans cycles? They have a clearance section for ex demo etc etc. I saved a good chunk on my rampa which is a great piece of kit for the money.

Looks like Halfords BF deal will hit your sub £400 Mark:
https://www.halfords.com/cycling/turbo-trainers/trainers/tacx-flux-smart-trainer

I don't ride and have got no desire to get a bike and go on the road. I want to do some more and regular exercise though as only doing an hour of 5-a-side one to twice a week at the moment.

I know nothing about bikes or these trainers. However would happily throw £1k at a bike and a trainer. I think I'll start a new thread for some pointers and help from you expert bikers.
