F1 Gearbox fun and games - and some error codes

Thanks for replying, I have searched many F1 sites, but it seems no one ever get their car running again, or they never post what they did to get it running.??
I am old 80 in a couple months, but have no problem doing the work myself, which yes can be a mistake. There are no shops within 125 that were willing to work on the 2007 Maserati. I took the insurance off and have bought 3k worth of parts, but getting the Maserati running again is my new hobby.

I removed the trunk so have good access to the back end of the transmission. Am on my third litter of CHF, so I do make sure the tank is full., I bought a new pump and it primes to 50 bar in 3 0r 4 seconds. The transmission has had P1721 pressure sensor clutch actuator and P1781 relay have been read by the Launch, but always reset. Doing the Self Learn, no fault codes were shown. I have bought some new relays but have learned to use a multi meter on the which shows they are good (working) The Launch X431 919E is a couple months old and has up dated, The Launch seems to be able to read many items, Will read the pump pressure in Bars, break pedal switch, (on and off)

question, on a youtube video someone did the Clutch Configuration reading 19.68, then puts that into the next screen 19.68, then does the Self Learn, but when I do that the clutch wear is 30%, even tho the clutch is new. If I put in 21.5 the clutch wear going to 6%, not sure I am now down to getting the reading to where the TCU is happy? But in the last 3 months I have at least got the Self Learn working, lots of bleeding.

Any suggestion greatly appreciated, I hope to keep this very pretty car from going to the scrap yard. Have bought a used TCU, as some people have changed them out.

If your under the car looking at the bell housing from the rear of the car the red cable on the right side is for the clutch position sensor. Worth checking that it is intact and no signs of cable or connector damage.

If it turn out to be the clutch position sensor then its not a mega expensive part.

First things first if the codes have been cleared then see which codes come back. That will give us a clearer idea of what is happening after f1 hydraulic pipe was changed.

If your mechanic mate has the launch system then ask him to look at the live data streams for the f1 pump and the f1 relay.

When you open the car door you should hear the pump prime and then go off after a few seconds. This raises the pressure in the f1 system to the 40 to 50 zone. The pump should then only fire again if the pressure drops below 40 which is approx every 2 to 3 gear changes.

If there is an internal seal that is leaking you will see on the live data stream that the system pressure is dropping quickly and the f1 relay will keep firing as a result. The f1 relay can fail. It is a cheap part if you buy the one on the alternative parts list. If that relay is failing it can lead to the pump failing.

From the info you have provided so far it sounds like your clutch is still ok and has life left in it.

The issue probably lies in either the clutch position sensor or the TCU.

There is i believe a relay in the tcu which can fail and cause symptoms similar to the clutch position sensor starting to fail. Both parts can be changed without the pain of removing the clutch or gearbox and both parts a few hundred pounds not thousands.

It is really a matter of seeing what if any new codes tomato animes pc have been thrown up and going from there.

And yes, it's very frustrating when people don't come back to the forum to post the resolution to their tales of woe. If several people on a forum have tried to help you solve a complex issue, I feel like it's just common courtesy to come back and knock off a quick post letting everyone know what the problem turned out to be.
