F1 fluid leak

Guys I think I have finally found the source of my very slow F1 fluid leak.

I have attached pictures of the 2 areas I suspect the leak is coming from.

The part number which covers all the rubber hoses is 185070.

The metal section is ok and I wanted to know if it is possible to just replace the rubber hose sections?

Maserati don't seem to sell them as a separate units!

Cheers

looking at those worm drive clips that tube section has already been replaces, the factory (I'm guessing here) uses those one-use crimp style. Some engine degreaser working in when warm with a paint brush, hose off and test - should find the exact place of the leak easier. Maybe just tightening those clamps will do it.

Yeah I noticed the jubilee clips which don't look stock on one of the pipes.

The main leak looks like it's coming from the large one on the second picture that is protected by the plastic shroud, it has wear fracture marks at the metal pipe joint.

I have cleaned it to check with degreaser but as it's such a slow leak (0.5 ltr over 12 months) it's been hard to track down.

I replaced all of those pipes (solenoid ones and longer one from the F1 pump when I did my F1 pump years ago - not that they were leaking just as a prevention. I just sourced some appropriate piping from my nearest hydraulic place. Changing the long one actually makes changing the F1 fluid much easier now as well!

Think I will do the same and just replace them all.

Did you remove the F1 fluid tank to do this or just leave in situ and remove the pipes?

The main metal pipe did you replace that with a like for like made up spec or just use complete rubber?

Cheers

Hi there - while ago but I think I removed the fluid tank (i was changing the pump as well). The metal part/pipe I kept as it was in good condition - just replaced the rubber pipe connected to it. Hope this is useful.

Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it

Unable to see the pictures ?
My leak is similar and likely the pipe from reservoir to the hard line. Seems that crimp type clip still in place so might be original pipe now 13 years old. Is this something I can do at home on the floor with proper trolly jacks and stands? Can top up the reservoir while laid on the floor. Not sure how. long I could work like that fiddling with hose in tiny spaces. The bigger issue is whether the system. will need bleeding afterwards. Will send it to garage if my car might be incapacitated by DIY repair.

You can access all you need to from removing the boot floor and also by jacking the car up on stands. I had to remove the pipe to the reservoir and get it made at a local hydraulic supplier to save on the euro spares prices!

Don't quote me on if this is correct or not but my car seems to be ok regarding the top up of F1 fluid. I plugged the holes left when removing the pipe so fluid was still in the system.

When I topped it up slowly I then just recycled the battery isolator switch in the boot to keep priming the actuator until I could see the reservoir was full.

Running for months now with no issues or leaks.

As mentioned by another member, change all of the standard pipe clips to prevent any weeping under load.

thanks for the reassurance about hydraulic issue which made sense to me as well.
Looks like your profile pic shows the GranSport. Not sure my QP has any access panels under the boot floor as I had it all out once before. Will certainly remove it all again if someone can confirm access is possible.

Yes forgot to mention mine is a GS so may differ regarding the access to the QP.
