Is one of us going to phone Emblem for a review?

I don't know what I'm talking about at all, so whilst I'm happy to, I won't ask the right questions.

But if no one else feels like doing it, then I'm happy to. Just let me know.

Gave Emblem a call and spoke with Martin. He was very helpful and happy to spend time discussing SS Auto Tech and the work they do. Martin advised if they've an actuator needing work it is who they will send it to. They have done so across Ferrari, Maserati & Lamborghini and they have all worked perfectly there after. Not sure if you can get a much better recommendation endorsement than Emblem. Probably also worth talking to SS Auto Tech directly but by various sources Simon there is more than helpful.

Im going to call them now on behalf of SM as it probably carries more weight.
Do thank Emblem for me when you next speak to them.

It's not for me to say who carries more weight - Emblem or SM. This will be up to the individual to decide.
What I would say is either the units remanufactured by SS Auto Tech work or they don't. They appear to do so.
As for thanking Emblem - perhaps this is something you should consider doing yourself.

Sounds like things have moved forward when my actuator went Emblem had not found anyone who could successfully rebuild one although a few had tried. I was lucky and Emblem found a bran new one for not silly one for not silly money, certainly less than the £2.5k quoted above for a secondhand unit.

After Le Mans '14 if memory serves - recall reading the thread at the time. I was tempted to pick up the one on eBay recently - it went for £170.
Thought better of it though in case someone might've actually needed it. For that price, and the cost of testing, it might've been worth the risk & nice to have on the shelf though.

4200
GranTurismo MC
Stradale

Hi Guys,

Matt Conaero contacted me last week and we had a good chat discussing this forum and the work I do, and he suggested I post up here and introduce myself;

I'm Simon and I run ssautotech.

I've been repairing the F1 hydraulic gearbox systems for these cars, and many others, for a number of years now, and am happy to offer my services here.

Should anyone here need any actuator overhaul work, help, advice or anything else related to the F1 system, feel free to contact me here or via my website, and I will do my best to help out!

I've only just reviewed my prices after the last few years, we had to put them up slightly, but I am more than happy to offer you guys a 10% discount from what's advertised (just quote sportsmaserati.com).

I hope this is helps,

All the best,
Simon
